Skeleton Raid Information?

  • Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had some concrete details on Skeleton Raids? First, I was curious if the Skull Cloud had it's own unique mechanic where the color of the eyes flashing meant anything? It could be my eyes playing tricks on me, but I seem to have witnessed the eyes flashing green, yellow and red?

When it comes to spawn timers, does anyone have a general rule of the time frame we are talking? I have seen people claiming anywhere from 2-5 hours so I am just curious if anyone has been able to come up with a general consensus?

Skeleton raids are my favorite part of the game so far. It requires the most amount of teamwork between myself and my shipmates, and the payoff is immensely gratifying!

Any and all thoughts would be helpful!

  • I have noticed that the eyes are red when the fort is actively being attacked. but I may be totally wrong.

also I think the respawn is roughly an hour in my experience.

  • Just did one last night with a crew of 4. It took us around an hour. Way more waves then you would expect...Doing this solo would take for ever.

Lots of waves and we almost gave up thinking something was broken. But after you kill the red labeled captains they drop a key. Use this key to open the room and collect the loot.

We had around 5-8 rare chests and about 5 rare skulls.....Shortly after leaving the island the Kraken found us and took the whole ship down. We did not survive and all of our booty vanished :(.

This was a very sad moment and caused us to all scrap the ship and sink down with it. On our way down we drank, danced and played music.

Even tho we ended up with nothing this was a blast, I can't wait to do another raid soon.

  • for me after i've done a skeleton fort it seems to be around a week ingame time before the next spawn. don't know if its random tho,but on average round that time for me.

  • @taboo8614 Right? Isn't that the best part regarding just doing all sorts of dumb things with friends? I am unsure what took you nearly an hour to do the Raid, unless the raids scale with number of people. My friend and I normally run a sloop and we use the tactic of him rounding them all up and I blow them all away with the cannon. Takes us on average 20-30 minutes. Hope that helps you, friend!

  • @taboo8614 That’s crazy. I had a buddy playing last night and the same thing happened...
He was so worried when we hit another fort latter that night that he made sure we loaded up for the kraken lol it didnt happen the 2nd time lol I havent seen it yet myself

  • @xgowx-deadaim so true, this game is a blast with friends.

As for the raid time...We were doing the same idea with the cannons but I think we were playing it a bit too safe. I was the only one rounding them up and that’s why it took so long

Also after reading the patch notes, it sounds like the special skeletons (gold, rock, etc) require the use of a different tool/weapon. Put using the canon and gun powder barrels is the way to go.

BLAST THEM ALL BACK TO DAVY JONES’ LOCKER!

  • I did it solo and took me a lot of time ( i beat them just thanks to the use of the cannons ) but they dropped just two skulls and one of them neither rare.

  • @xgowx-deadaim We've been measuring the time between forts. For our crew, we have had every fort spawn between 1.5 to 3 hours after killing the previous captain. Also, every respawn has been on a 30 minute interval. So either 1.5, 2, 2.5, or 3 hours.

Our data set is not big enough that I would say this is definitively the case, but it's the pattern we have noticed so far. Whenever we are playing and the 2.5 hour mark passes without a skull, we start to prep for the next fort by stocking up on supplies and gunpowder barrels and head towards the center of the map or to one of the 4 forts that are currently used.

  • The eyes don't mean anything

  • @taboo8614 Doing it solo doesn't really take forever. I recently went solo and did it under an hour. My first ever run though, I think took 5 hours because I didn't know what I was doing and I got lucky!
