I've never wanted to uninstall a game so fast in my life. Spawn camped on my own ship for about 20 mins, other players just waiting at an outpost for you to turn up with chests, it seems this games is already a cesspool for toxic players. Is a PVE server or even a safe mode to much to ask so we can just relax and enjoy the game? Glad I only dropped 10 euro on this on gamepass. You should fix these issues or the game will be dead in a few months
Endless trolling and griefing
If you get repeatedly spawnkilled on your own ship you have the option to open up the menu go to "My Crew" and select "Scuttle Ship".
Your Ship will sink and you will be able to respawn on/near a replacement ship.If you approach an Outpost check for anchored ships or keep your eyes peeled for mermaids in the water, both indicate the presence of other Players.
Stay clear of the Outpost if it's occupied (or be ready to fight or flight if you proceed heading towards it).To a certain extent this will be true this game as it is pirating but I agree there should be other measures in place to ensure safe passage in certain areas. Yesterday I rolled up next to a galleon clearly told them with my mic I wasn't here for trouble I was just playing my accordion I had plenty of time to steal their chest without being noticed once they were done cashing in their chests with me not interfering they trolled me for about 15 minutes as well and s*****y ship for no reason luckily I had nothing on it
I agree! I waited all day to get home from work (I work at a call center and get yelled at all day) so I was looking forward to getting home to crank up the game and having fun. First voyage some one sunk my ship and tried to hijack it while I was sailing it! I then started over again with a different ship. Then what really sent me off the rail was the trolling and camping next to my ship to kill me and then sinking my ship on an island where I had a chest I needed to take back. After that I was like okay, one more go, right? I get a chest while being very cautious and go find the island started on and 10 feet from turning in the chest another player came after me and killed me with no way to protect myself.
There needs to be a safe area but on day one the game should not get me that angry within an hour of playing. It will not survive if it doesn’t. It’s a good game besides that a few tweaks here and there and it will be perfect!
If u see a ship or mermaid at and outpost turn around and go to another. U should see them far before u get close to the island. There r at least 6 outposts and only 6 or 7 other ships so if u check the horizon u should be good. I have yet to play a game and seen other ships even close to pur galleon.
@cobaltnite01 10 seconds is way too long. During those 10 seconds you can clearly wreck an entire crew. I'd go for a 2-3 seconds max.
I’m frustrated as well I rushed home to destroy every ship that was up for a fight, myself and my crew saw three ships all night in AU time over a 7 hr period. 1 sloop scuttle immediately after shooting at us first then sinking, the second sniper shot me off the wheel then sailed out of bounds and the only galleon we saw ran.
@sir-saxon this happened to me, however you seem to pointing the finger at a lot of people and claiming that they are “trolls” and ”griefing”. You called me a trolling griefer because I said that I didn’t agree with someone’s idea.
@sir-saxon There will be some who will play this way. Options have been suggested. There will be no PVE or safe zones and I for one hope no spawn invulnerability.
There are situations, not yours specifically, where killing the person when they respawn is a perfectly reasonable way to play. Say during battle your ship is sunk and you commandeer theirs to get to an outpost.Sorry for anyone having a bad time, but you can also try to fight back. I'm running solo and only have played like 20 minutes (no idea what I'm doing) ... a 4 person crew came up on my little sloop when I anchored. They killed me once, then I respawned on my ship, killed a guy on my ship, swam to their ship, killed them all, then hid in the bottom of their boat and killed them again when they finally came looking for me. Felt pretty pirate-y.
Two of us had the same thing happen, we took the two items worth any value, swim behind the outpost, cashed them in, and went back to have some trolling PVP against a gallon. Fun times actually because 2 of us against 4 and i think we won. They sunk our ship from the gallon, and smashing it into the docks but it still was a fun pvp game. Next time we will shoot any ship in harbor and remove players at outposts prior :) good times actually.
I do one quest at a time. If theres 2 or 3 maps per qyest i do one map then return, n do other maps. I kerp on the lookout n divert if i can. I can get about 3 quests done before i get shot. N usually i get trolled once i spawn. I log out n log in n hope a better server. But i ran across bkackmailers just 20 mins afo. They told me in mic give them my treasure or the crew will group report my acct to xbox. That right there worries me. I hope its only that group and not anyone else.
@drkmasta I honestly would have preferred if this game was single player. Or coop. Don’t get me wrong. I like cannon battles. I don’t like getting cornered by a gale on while I am playing with a smaller ship.
@sir-saxon Sorry but who are you to say this game will be dead in a few months lel. And trust me I would be totally p****d if I got spawn camped it is complete bs but still I would say the game would be dead in a few months. Not only that for those who are replying saying I agree I got sunk my first time. Well sucks for you ITS CALLED PVP and if you can't deal with the concept of the game then leave. Pirates were never nice to each other and sometimes and I mean sometimes occasionally they were but all pirates are not going to be la de da to each other they want to steal, just deal with it. Im playing for my first time today, HELL I BOUGHT THE GAME JUST FOR THE WATER LELEL

@sir-saxon Yes please delete it so we don’t need toxic players like you
How is he a toxic player? He ENCOUNTERED toxic players. People are having problem understanding and comprehending such a short text?
Edit: also, your name checks out, heh.
@kgmshylian He’s uninstalling a game because he doesn’t know how to fend for himself against other people. It’s sad

He is uninstalling the game, because Rare failed to address the griefing before the launch. His claims are valid. The game has no good mechanics defending the player from getting spawncamped on their own ship. The lag and rubberbanding just makes it worse now. The ship scuttling is a disappointing measure to take to get yourself out of these situation.
So all in all, his claims are valid, take your toxic behaviour elsewhere and off this forum please.
I must be lucky. I haven't encountered much in the way of this. I have been sailing solo sloop a lot and don't really encounter many other players and when I do I steer clear of them and they mostly seem to steer clear of me. On the odd occasion where I have encountered players that are determined to kill me, camp my boat etc I just leave that server and rejoin another. I have been wondering for a while if they deliberately put solo players on quieter servers, either that or, as I say, I've been lucky.
I'm sorry the OP has had so much grief but maybe try sailing solo and or switching servers when necessary and see if you can't be a bit more lucky, like I seem to be.
