Hold F/R to loot/store all?

  • Repost of a thread I started on Reddit
    (Link: https://redd.it/83ww3i).

I feel that, as far as QoL stuff goes, this seems like something worth being a toggle. I'd say that the time to hold should be about the same as the time to spam the key. Short explanation: hold the key to reduce the chance latency snipped one of your attempts at picking up or dropping off an item. Also, it reduces strain marginally on your keyboard/hands (marginally for sure!).

Mainly, pitching this idea so it doesn't feel tedious to spam keys to much as you load up supplies. Holding F to grab all of them at once and then holding R to put them all away would be beneficial... But keep the initial coding to spam so you can pick up less than a full supply if you only wanted 2 bananas instead of a full stack. I do feel like, since some people weren't keen on the idea, including a toggle so people aren't locked into it if they don't want it would be best.

To avoid this feature becoming an "edge" over users who don't use this, make the average time to pick up a full supply take about the same time as a full stack. You could scale the time it "costs" by the number missing from inventory, but that would be a bit much.

I cross-posted this to see what the forums thought and to increase visibility. Thanks for reading!

  • @paladin-m109a6 i agree, and I wrote a similar thread that got no love

    https://www.seaofthieves.com/forum/topic/35677/buttons-and-general-control-scheme-tlc

When I say similar, I mean "hold the key to reduce the chance latency snipped one of your attempts at picking up or dropping off an item" but for everything, grabbing ladders, reloading cannons and such

  • Couldn't agree more this should be in the game, most likely will be since the devs know what they are doing.
