- Kill everyone on the Sea for they may have treasure to make you Rich!
- Throw them in the Brig if they don't listen! A good 20 minutes will change their ways!
- Be More Pirate
PIRATE CODE (revamped)
The Sea of Thieves Pirate Code will always be
Article 1: The Sea Calls To Us All
Everyone is welcome on the Sea of Thieves regardless of age, gender, race, sexuality, nationality or creed.Article 2: The Sea Unites Us as One Community
Outside the heat of battle or piracy on the high seas, all crews shall bond together as a community of like-minded souls.Article 3: Disputes Are Settled upon the Waves
None shall quarrel or overly dissent against another crew, but let every engagement be settled by sword, pistol and good seamanship.Article 4: All Crewmates Are Equal
Let each crewmate be respected as equal and free to follow their own bearing, speak openly and vote in affairs of the voyage.Article 5: The Crew Bond Is Sacred
Those who betray their crew and ship through griefing or trolling shall be sent to the brig.Article 6: Respect New Pirates and Their Voyage Ahead
May the old legends help to forge new ones: treat new pirates with respect and share your knowledge.Article 7: Those Who Cheat Shall Be Punished
Pirates who show bad form and cheat their crew or others shall surely face bitter hardships and punishmentsNo revamps. It's no guideline either. Those articles are the articles that form the code that this community created. Regardless if you were part of the community at that time, you are now. Learn it, and uphold it to the best of your abilities. Doesn't mean you can't sink, loot, plunder other people. Means you shouldn't do so in a disrespectful, contemptible, toxic manner.

Wait, who are you to tell me what Pirate Code I will follow? That's laughable - you follow your code, and I'll follow mine. My code is exactly in line with the mechanics of the game. :)

Haha, I'm just excited about the game. I am a more fierce pirate then some of you I can tell, but I plan to play as a darker pirate than some apparently. I'm not the good guy - I'm the bad guy of the seas. :p

https://www.seaofthieves.com/forum/topic/16347/insider-hot-topic-community-pirate-codeThat doesn't make it any less laughable. As previously mentioned I am the bad guy on the Sea so don't expect me to raise my cannons, and pull up with my glass held high because if I do you can be assured that the glass is filled with puke.
Why not having villain players in the game, but your code ain't no code if not shared...

I believe you still get turn in's and can increase your faction and riches while being in the brig if your crew is turning in, etc.

LOL - We will see about that :p Of course I would be sober for battle, just holding a delightful present for you when I pull up.

Seems the Villain code has more votes on this post already so it's 'shared'.

lol as am I and it's probably safe to say everyone on these forums are too 😉
There's nothing "wrong" with attacking every pirate you meet but remember, sinking a ship with no plunder will leave you less supplied to take on ships that do! and 20 minutes seems a bit harsh haha
@JJblackhat
It's funny how you keep missing the point. The code is non-negotiable matey. Laugh at it all you want, but it is what it is, and breaking it will lead to repercussions.@erinom3 said in PIRATE CODE (revamped):

I'm not sure why you think you can tell me how to play, the mechanics are in the game and I can utilize them how I please as long as I am not cursing, or camping you. Grow up - you don't 'own' people and the way they play. :)

You're right 20m is kind of harsh, perhaps 19m and 59s is better. ;)

@jjblackhat Because it is the rules of the game implemented by Rare, punished by Rare.
Hey tell me which rules I am breaking that is punishable by RARE in my CODE - lol Do it.
@jjblackhat Look at the top of your screen. To the right of the Forums. That little section right there says they will ban you for not following it.

You still haven't told me one of my rules in my code that are punishable, and how they differ from what's posted on the seaofthieves.com.
@irrigodawn said in PIRATE CODE (revamped):
@jjblackhat Your number 2 breaks the real rule number 4.
Wrong! I am treating every crew mate equally. If you don't listen to the captain you go to the BRIG! Try again.
Also, just to add if my crew felt like I was treating them unequal they could vote me to the Brig so where is your argument?
@irrigodawn said in PIRATE CODE (revamped):
@jjblackhat There is no captain.
That is not true, whoever starts the party is the CAPTAIN - apparently you haven't been playing the same game.
@jkodis said in PIRATE CODE (revamped):
There's really only one code people need to follow: Don't be a d**k.
Exactly! My code is not being a 'D". Everyone is treated equal, there is no curse/camping going on just you know.. BEING MORE PIRATE.
@jjblackhat Except in matchmaking there is no starting pirate, you can't brig people with just your vote, and the code says no pirate has authority over another.
@jjblackhat
I am not trying to tell you how to play. I'm trying to remind you of the SoT pirate code, a code you seemed to disregard. That is all.@irrigodawn said in PIRATE CODE (revamped):

Sorry I don't match make, but if I do it's through the LFG system so I can find like minded players to play with. However, you are obviously in some kind of dream world that you think this game is not going to be filled with everything my code stands for. I guess I'll still be playing, and you will come here and tell everyone how you hate the game and leave.
I have on suggestion for you buddy... it's the last thing I will respond to you with so you can have the last word since our discussion is going nowhere fast, and that's 'BE MORE PIRATE'. :)

The matchmaking of the gme doesn't work like that, there's ideed no captain. Proof is that there is no indication in-game stating that, just a voting system for voyages...

That is all.Nobody has told me how I disregarded it yet, in fact I considered it before typing my own CODE. There is nothing in there that does not follow the same guidelines, mine is just simpler and written more darker.

Yea, but on the Xbox One when you enter 'LFG', and join someones group you can add 'tags' to the post and one of those tags is #IMCAPTAIN and when you join that persons group they are the Captain unless the rest of the crew decides to take over, but that's how it has worked in the beta's that I have played thus far. Perhaps that will change, but that's the game right now.
That does lead to an interesting question though, who's ship upgrades are used on the ship?
This isn't ''more darker'' written, this is more poorly written!
The Rare code has a bit more style to it!
