VoIP and Voicemeeter

  • I use Voicemeeter as virtual sound card and audio managment.
I can ear perfectly all SoT sounds (SFX, music, ...) except VoIP.

I'm unable to listen my mate and other ppl (while there is the 'chat' bubble above their head). And I'm unable too to use my mic.

I tried to modify from Headphone to Speakers, same issue.

  • @etuldan There is a support article for audio issues in Windows 10, but I only have access to the Spanish article and not the English article.
This article should appear in your language here:

As I said, it's a software audio mix (which include speaker and mic), thus, I can't really unplug it. And it works perfectly with all programs/game. Why can't we just have a audio device selection option like in most of modern games ?

  • Same problem here, i have a setup with Voicemeeter and Virtual AudioCable so that i can produce sound in voice chat in Discord or Game (via a Launchpad) and also be able to talk via my mic.
A lot of streamers may use this kind of setup and unfortunately in my 2 gameplay sessions in 2 days, both time i could not hear my creawmate (but i was seeing the little chat icon over their head) or other pirates.
And has for me they couldn't hear me and my voicechat icon was not visible over my head, so it seems that the game could not pick any sound. And no it's not a mic problem since i was talking in Discord.
Clearly we need to be able to choose the input and outpout for VOIP, and that would be a Day One game for me !

  • I also have this issue, how is there no fix yet? Rare, grow a pair and tell Microsoft to buzz off with their BS settings app and let PC gamers select their audio input and output hardware in the settings like every other modern game.

    Hi all.

Got the fix for this - I too had the same issue - was driving me mad! I too use Voice Meeter Banana.

Its due to SoT using the 'Communications Device' setting in Windows for Voice comms.

    So to fix:

    1. Win Key + I to get to settings:
    2. Search for "Sound Playback Options"
    3. Note: With the Windows 10 April 2018 Update there are new options to route the sounds per app - but the interface does hide the old style sound devices dialogue box.
    4. Under the 'Related Settings' select "Sound Control Panel"
This will load the old style sound devices box.
    5. Under Playback - Right click 'Voice Meeter Input' and tick "set as default communications device" as well as the default playback device.
    6. Under Recording - Ether set 'Voice Meeter Output" as "set as default communications device" by right clicking it or the other Voice Meeter Output (AUX)
I set recording to "Voice Meeter Output" and in game selected voice chat to speakers and in voice meeter sent Mic to sent audio to B1. Then on Voice Meeter VAIO sent the audio to your sound output device (real one) in my case my headset speakers.

    Phil

  • Worked for me, but now the windows app specific sound settings aren't working for VLC anymore, had to go into the vlc preferences and change to direct x and point to the AUX.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • i've been using VMBanana for a long time.

Have Zero issues with it for VOIP in any game.

I could always sent a config for it to anyone that wants to try my settings out.
