Physical Copy vs Digital Copy

    So I was wondering...

    Digital Copy: You pre-order the digital copy, it's on your Xbox, you can play it all you want AND you are also able to play from your computer with all progression from your Xbox, or vice vera. You're playing on your Xbox, wife/gf/kids kick you off, and you can literally walk over to your computer and basically start where you left off correct?

    So here is my question when it comes to buying the physical copy: You buy the digital copy, throw it in your Xbox, and you SHOULD be able to play on PC as well after that correct? Well, what if I did that, and then let my friend or family member borrow the game. Wouldnt they technically be getting the game on PC for free that way? I understand you need the copy to play on your Xbox, but what if someone else has both an Xbox and PC as well and just puts the game in to get it for free on their computer?

    Has Rare implemented something to keep this from happening that I just don't know about yet?

    Only the digital version allows for both PC and Xbox, the physical copy does NOT. I'd advise you to get the digital copy as you can do both and you still get preorder bonuses anyways. Just make sure it says Windows 10 on the cover also

    Edit: Now I'm not too experienced with Xbox (PC gamer here) but I imagine that whatever copy you use there can only be ONE instance of it running on either PC or Xbox. I did read somewhere on the threads that there was some weird xbox trick you can do to play two instances with one copy at the same time but I have no idea.

    @rooby-dooby-dew Ah, OK. That makes sense. I already pre-ordered the digital copy, I guess I just missed where they said the physical copy doesn't come with a PC copy as well. That's why I was so confused. I was going to say, if you get a PC copy with a physical copy, you might as well pass around the physical copy to anyone who has a Xbone and a PC. That clears up a lot for me then.

    I can corroborate this. Spoke with Microsoft and indeed you can only play Xbox/PC interchangeably with the digital copy. Physical Xbox copy will only allow you to play on the Xbox.

    @rooby-dooby-dew the Xbox trick you refer to where one purchase will run on to Xboxes is called game share it also shares your gold membership with that Xbox.
