Xbox 360 Controller Compatibility PC

    Is Sea of Thieves compatible with a wireless Xbox 360 controller on the PC? I couldn't seem to get mine working in the beta test and couldn't find any controller compatibility lists.

    I haven't tried myself, but it wouldn't surprise me if it just hasn't been implemented yet due to it being a 'beta' stress test. I THINK I read somewhere that it will fully support controllers though. I can't remember exactly I saw that though. I will have to do some digging. It wouldn't surprise me if SoT will fully support Xbox controllers though because it is a Microsoft game as well.

    I have the same problem, I try to play SoT over Steam Link with the Xbox360 Controller and I can't walk. The left stick is changed with the functions from the cross, but the cross also didn't work. I want to chill and plunder on my couch ;)

    My xbox controller worked fine all through alpha, beta, stress tests and works fine in the full game on PC too.

    I'm having the same issue. I can't use the XBOX 360 controller on SoT, but it works fine when I'm playing games on Steam

    I got it to work, and so did /u/Rockjob on Reddit. Please note that you need the wireless receiver for Xbox360 to follow their steps below.

    "Figured it out. My controller was appearing in the device manager under human interface devices as a 'USB input device' and under that was a HID compliant game controller.
    (View by connection mode makes this clear.)

    I right clicked and updated the driver for this 'USB input device'
    Browse for driver software
    let me pick
    uncheck show compatible hardware
    Microsoft, 'Xbox Wireless Controller' install"
