Stupid question about grog.

  • How will we refill the grog keg on the ship if it runs out after too many tankard refills. I heard it will go empty. A glitch is swapping tankards on the ship. Another way is scuttling the ship. Beyond that, in the finished game though, will we be able to travel to taverns to buy new kegs. If so thats actually good because it’s one more use for the gold we find.

I actually believe the more things we have to buy the better, it makes getting gold through different ways more so important.

If it’s not in already, will we be buying supplies like cannonballs, ammo for weapons, and planks at outposts as well or just finding them on islands. I’d almost prefer supplies to be a very limited thing on the open ocean. Finding them on islands is possible but not always guaranteed. If you and the crew is out of food or cannon balls, youll start needing that gold pretty bad because you havent found a whole lot at sea or on an island. You’ll also have a need to travel to an outpost other than to sell a chest or get a voyage. Also, it’ll force players to run from fights more often when they realize they need to restock on supplies. No just running into combat because you made a quick island pitstop and found max supplies you needed.

  • @ximp0sterx You raise a very important question a ship with no Grog be a sad ship 😭

  • @ximp0sterx This might be the most important question to be asked in this enitre forum....

    WE NEED ANSWERS!

  • I've purposely scuttled ships due to the grog barrel running dry!

We need them pub barrels Rare! :)

  • @ximp0sterx It would be cool if you could pick up the grog keg and bring it to a tavern to refill it.

  • I've always hoped that one day, ONE DAY, rare will allow use to use a chest of thousand grogs to refill our tankards. Which would be an eh.. interesting great reason to keep a valuable chest on-board.

I definitely agree that we should be able to either take our grog barrel to a tavern, or be able to refill it in some way. Although, being a grog bandit is also incredibly funny. I can highly recommend going to every ship on the server, and drinking all their grog. Even better if you manage to stay hidden

  • @ximp0sterx This is the best topic of this forum! You are a genius :)

I never raise the anchor if I'm not completely drunk of Grog !!!

I love this idea! You get a CoaTG and you have to place it next to your barrel. But it needs to be like a "slow drip feed" in its efforts to fill the barrel. This would mean you'd need/want to keep it on board for as long as possible to fully fill your keg.

There'd have to be some indicator on the keg tho, say like a viewing window towards the top of the keg you could see grog from if full or a little cork that pops out of the top when full, etc.

  • Being able to pick up the grog barrel on the ship to refill in the tavern is a good idea.
If this was the mechanic in the final game i would love to see what people would do. I know i would run on to other peoples ships and steal their grog barrel hahahah

    You evil, evil person!

That'd be the worse form of griefing/trolling I've ever heard of! :)~

  • i would love to be able to find grog barrels on islands or buy them, my ship would be completely full with them.

  • Was there ever an answer to this? Don't fancy scuttling a ship loaded with supplies to refill the grog keg :'(
