Im pretty s***e at aiming with the cannons. I was hoping someone thats good at it could give me some tips on how to line up my shots. Any help would be appreciated. Also, is the 'crosshair' for cannons in the middle of the screen or is it at the tip of the barrel?
In need of Cannon tips
@mistavanvleck There are not any "crosshairs" on the cannons. I am not great with them either. You have to remember they don't shoot "straight". They sort of lob their ammo at the target. Honestly it is a guessing game.
So, when you fire a round it trails smoke and sparks. Basically acting like a tracer. You watch where it hits, then adjust from there. i wish I could tell you something more, I am sure someone in here will!

The best way to improve is to practice, get a feel for how the cannons are by firing them as often as you can.
some pointers I could give you however would be to fire ahead of your target if they are moving, obviously judge their speed based off your own and adjust accordingly.
Also if your looking to do significant damage and sink your opponent you're going to want to aim lower along the water line that way your shots are putting holes in their boat. If you are looking to take out a captain or a cannoneer then obviously your going to aim higher to inflict damage to a character.
Keep cannonballs on you anytime you anticipate some PvP action...this makes it quicker to lay down fire on a ship without having to run back and forth as often.
hmm well I guess my first tip is don't look for the "crosshair". There is none, you just need to practice. The cannons very much rely on the distance of the target. it has a bit of an arch so if the target is further away you will want to aim higher, generally speaking. A lot goes into it really, speed of moving target, are you moving, distance, you have a generally slow moving projectile so you need to take everything into consideration.
