How do I form a crew of Xbox friends?

    Ahoy!

    Perhaps this is obvious to more experienced Xbox'ers, but I'm wondering how ones goes about playing Sea of Thieves with a crew of their Xbox friends?

    I've joined a few random pickup groups, which was fun, and in a couple of those I was invited to a "Party". Does this have something to do with it?

    Sorry if this has already been explained on these forums or elsewhere - feel free to redirect me!

    You click on the big ship, that will put you in a lobby by yourself, and then you invite your friends. If you only have 2 friends joining, it will matchmake you up with an additional 4th person no matter what.

    @jptx You need to be at the lobby screen of the game... from there you can press X to invite friends.
    You can then choose people off of your friends list to invite to your lobby and into your game.

    Thanks folks! I'll give it a shot.

    Any idea why, after joining some groups, they invite me to a "Party"? Is there some benefit that Xbox Party voice chat provides over the in-game voice chat?
