Connect to Xbox Live Error (cyan beard)

  • @igelflosse its work, no more errors, thank you

  • Well, unfortunately I can't disable ipv6 in my router, I was researching and only potential solution would be to contract a static IP with ipv4 with my phone dealer and this is around 15 euros / month.

How is possible that one of the main apps in Windows 10 didn't fix issues with the newer protocol?

  • @lobofh i got rid of CyanBeard by turning ipv6 off in my routers settings, so this seems to be the way to go for now.

I'm just guessing here, but if your router doesn't offer that option, have you tried to disable ipv6 on your network adapter in windows? Go to control panel - network and internet - network connections, right-click the interface connecting your pc to your router (i assume ethernet or wlan), properties, and remove the checkmark on internet protocol version 6.
(I'm translating from my german windows, so i might be a little off in what the menus are actually named. Sorry in that case.)

I did it just now (in addition to my router settings) and xbox app still reports a open nat connection. But i hadn't had the time to test-run it with SoT yet.

I hope this might help you.

  • @cpt-shakespear I will try now, it was my first intention but on further inspection the advices I found were talking specifically to disable ipv6 in the router, not in windows.

Will be back, I am losing hope with this damn error. At least I can play around two hours, but it's tiresome.

  • @lobofh Just double check your router doesn't have some kind of teredo filter (mine did, enabled by default).

    Best of luck!

  • @cpt-shakespear no, mine is ok in this. I have NAT moderate and teredo is not blocked.

  • @lobofh Are you using a Fritzbox? Some of the newer Fritzbox routers no longer allow you to disable IPv6. One option to try is using an older model, but it might or might not work and it probably isn't cheap either.

  • @zoopy , no, my router is Livebox (Orange), and they just work actually with ipv6.

To disable it on Windows had not effect, as expected.

    Stranded in this island...

    same for me...

  • same for me...F*k

  • @zcd-skormkill this helped me very much ... 5 hours straight without an error and i am still playing :D

  • why so many dc !! seriously !
got this at least 12 times tonigh and same for my friends !

  • @edward-x-teach same for me!

  • please someone can help us? it's frustrating!

  • @umabel01 It works! Disable IPv6 on your router, and play without disconnectind.
There is a question....why it is not official information?

  • @liveforsurf i disabled ipv6, but it doesn't work. I find another Solution: bypass my routher firewall and set my IP to public.. Now i can play without disconnect.

  • Luckily and touch wood mine now seems to have calmed down but I kept getting this the last time I had a load of loot and my ship began floating in mid air then I got the cyan bears error! I’ve messaged rare about the error but they say it’s because you disconnect from Live.
My internet was absolutly fine tested through both Xbox and speed checker on computer! My brother was playing thought night in other room no issues yet I kept disconnecting.
Now that has stopped all I seem to keep getting is lag all the time! So frustrating! Wish they’d fix this damn game

  • Same issue as all above

    Disabled IPv6 in my router
    Nat type: Open
    Opened ports to xbox live

Did pretty much anything with no result. I'm starting to lose it.

  • I'm on PC (Windows 10), I have disabled ipv6, I have Open NAT, my internet connection is fine, I'm still connected to my friends voice-chat in the Live app (so I'm still connected to the Live network) and guess what? Cyanbeard! "Lost connection to Live" my a--...

Makes the game unplayable. Fix this or I'm getting a refund.

  • So I had the same issue as you, tried to cut off ipv6 on my router, network card.
    I uninstalled Teredo drivers too.

The thing that worked for me was to fix my IP between my routeur and my PC, because it was a floating one before. AND I opened and redirected some ports on my routers.(https://ton.twitter.com/i/ton/data/dm/988889340876075012/988889332051308545/OFAD4cNq.jpg
I just had a 2+ hours session, works fine for me.

    Hope it will help

EDIT : Doesn't work, had just a good luck for hours and now it is back as before. Waiting for a patchj for this experience breaking bug.
