Still getting Too Early message

    I preordered the game at 2pm Eastern on the 24th and was one of many experiencing the Too Early message. I never received any codes in my microsoft linked email to redeem. I installed the game through the store as well as the xbox insider hub joined for closed beta access. I still got the Too Early message.

    I am uninstalling both the full game and beta access apps and reinstalling atm to see if that resolves the issue.

    But again, I never received any codes to redeem, only the email from the microsoft store purchase receipt.

    @twitchtvlordasp Hi, the servers are cuerently under maintenence and Rare has been trying to address the issue your post is about for some time now. Please have some patience and I'm sure access will be available to all those who have been invited/pre-ordered.

    Ok, update that reinstall did not work and still no redeem code from the Microsoft Store.

    You have to download the Sea of Thieves Closed Beta app not the Sea of Thieves game. The Beta is about 7 gigs or so for the xboxone and 13gigs or so for the pc version. Under the search bar type Sea of Thieves Closed Beta and there should be no need for the code if you already pre-ordered.

    @maqer90fin I think the only people still having issues is anyone that did not pre-order the game. I believe if you did not pre-order the game and you go to the sea of thieves closed beta page it will ask you to pre-order it unless you redeem your code so i guess i would suggest contacting rare asking about the code. sorry i cant be of any more help :(

    and i have contact them but one said they know there is problems.
    so not really helpful.

    I am talking about the Closed Beta app in the store. The game splash screen comes up for 2 seconds now and then gives the Too Early message and closes. I have both the full game appa nd the closed beta showing Installed.

    @dfuse-idazza yeah sorry didnt mean to hit to 0. The regular app that says sea of thieves is less then a gig which is what tipped me off that it was not going to work. The beta should be around 7-13 gigs im not sure why but my friend had a 13 gig download.

    I have the same issue, i pre-ordered the game, but i haven't got an email with redeem code, i downloaded the game, but when i try to play the game i get "still getting too early" message.... Should i wait for more for an email?

    @brcrusher No everybody who pre-ordered the game through the Microsoft store and/or via their Xbox, are experiencing the same error! I’m going to install the beta one more time if it doesn’t work Then they’ve lost my money and my interest!!! And please don’t preach to me to be patient!! Only idiots launch games or betas with theses kinds of problems and then waste more of my time Telling me they’re working on it! Should’ve already been worked on before you let it out! Now every time I hear Sea Of Thieves I’m gonna think about all this frustration and anger and think **** that game!! And those who made it!!

    Not true. I pre-ordered the game on the 11th of December through the Xbox store and I STILL can't get into the game as of 20 minutes ago. I'm VERY disappointed.

    @birdman2444 I purchased the game the day before the beta started on the pc. It downloaded really quickly but i didnt really think much of it. The beta start day i tried to play and got that error message so i did a little research and found the closed beta section and downloaded it and was able to get on right away. i was able to find a party on discord and played for a few hours. It does take a few minutes to load once the party starts the game and not everyone will load as quickly. This is a closed beta so it should not by any means be flawless so no need to get upset now you could get a refund sure but i will say that i had a very good time playing this and and made some new friends doing so. I will be playing it again tonight hopefully they fix it so you can try it for yourself.

    YEs there is a big red bar at the top that says they are aware of it. We just have to be patient. Look, i bought mine from the Microsoft APP Store yesterday around 6pm. I preordered it after watching a twitch streamer "Aculite" stream the game. He was in playing i didn't know anything about the problem. So i finish downloading and hit play and got this same message everyone else is. I'm not furious as i just Got it and didn't do research before i did. But for those that pre-ordered MONTHS ago and are still having the problem, (well that sucks). I think we just need to be patient and let them fix the problem. Its clear we all want to play and be a pirate and have fun, thats why were here. Lets all just relax while the dev team finds / and fixes the problem for everyone. And yes IT's still going on.

    I've decided I've spent too much of my time to even get into a closed beta and just going to cancel my preorder. No one should have to go through any workarounds or through other retailers for a game to get it to start up.

    Just so odd how some people can get in and others can't even is using the same methods. It doesn't instill any confidence in the game for me when having launcher issues that are pretty basic nowadays.

    The only thing i've actually seen so far that works is cancelling your pre order with microsoft and buying through amazon, which yes, thats ridiculous and shouldnt be a thing, but if you really are interested in playing the beta, your gonna have to jump through all these hoops, which again, is ridiculous

    This is a BETA not full release and honestly i can tell that you will complain about the amount of things there is to do in game because your already complains on the forums about a simple launch issue which is expected because once again this is a closed beta which is meant to be put out there for us gamers to test and say hey i found this issue and that issue. The game is very limited right now so you can not do all of the different quests the only ones you can do at this time is the gold hording company (not sure if that is the correct name). So to anyone reading this that wants to test the game out during this beta just hang in there we still have till the 29th and I'm sure you'll be able to do everything there is to do right now in about 2 day. Now to the people that don't want to wait and just complain then will bye :)

    @djm-xr07 I was reading somewhere that Amazon is now out of Codes and will take a day to get new ones. Im not sure if that is true but yeah and yes once again its a beta guys its not meant to be flawless and hey at least they are giving people the option to play the beta and request a refund regardless of enjoying the game or not.

    I pre-ordered the game (bought in windows store) and installed the beta 13.5gb. I haven't received any code to redeem for the black dog pack (should I have received a code to redeem?)

    I'm experiencing and waiting for the fix for the "too early" error message.

    @djm-xr07 I’ve heard that too and I tried that too, I currently have a copy from the Microsoft store and I have also pre Ordered one from Amazon And I’m still waiting for the email!! I’ve been trying to play for 24 hours now over 24 hours I appreciate the help. But I don’t believe in giving my money to a company that can’t get the simplest things right!! And the more people let them get away now with this c**p The worse it will get!! I’ve seen other game companies do it and continue to do it and don’t care at all as long as their bottom line looks great!! When you do betas like this game test that’s the same thing as an advertisement and if it goes bad then guess what I’m going to think 🤔
    If they had fixed the error quickly I would probably be more forgiving and More appreciative But I’m not so..... 👎

    @eldershrinker I did the same thing yesterday and i did not need to type in any type of codes at all to be able to play. The only email i gotten from MS was a confirmation saying i pre-ordered the game.

    @residentapple12 I tried that method and it didn't work for me so I have decided to cancel my preorder through the Microsoft Store and not even going to bother with this game.
