Please add options to adjust HDR settings. It is way too dark compared to other HDR games. I can barely make out objects at night and during the day it just seems constantly overcast. At the very least add a way to adjust HDR On/Off in the game so I don't have to disable it at the system level for this one game.
HDR Too Dark (More Options Please)
@voigtboy yep, I have a similar issue. LG OLED65C6 here. I don't have this oversaturation issue on other games. The darks in Sea of Thieves are super smeary, and then it's sunny and overly blinding
@lifewcoke Click the link for 4 screens taken from my XBOX ONE X. 2 are regular and 2 are HDR.. the darker ones are HDR!!
@voigtboy I definatley see the difference. When I start playing after work I will take a look at this a bit more closely. I think what you are seeing is what I see with no HDR.
I turned HDR off, and it looks so much better. I can see at night, and it's not like staring into the sun during the day. I really don't think it's my TV, since - like I said - I haven't seen this before. B****r. Unless changes are made or display options added ... I'll have to turn HDR off for sessions of SoT.
@cable0312 I'm just comparing the nonHDR vs HDR. In no way am I asking for some sort of exploit, only similarity.
@hauz20 I'm with you 100%. I'm playing Star Wars BF2, Monster Hunter and various other HDR titles all with built in HDR/brightness related sliders and have NO issues. This is the only game so far that is beyond playable in it's default HDR state.
@lifewcoke Make sure you click on picture I provided. It will take you to a link to see 4 images. 2 with HDR and 2 without HDR so you can see the difference.

Same. It's very odd in this case, at least for me. Like I said earlier, it's not just that it's dark at night (it is) but it's smeary too, like there's a filter added.
@hans-wurst-nl When I played the game before I could see with the lantern even if it was really dark. Even the map was really dark when I wasn't beside a light. I'd prefer the game like that, to make the lantern and the light more useful.
@grievous32 I prefer it like that as well but when you can't see anything at night even with latern that's no fun at all. I'm just guessing where I'm going to when on an island at night. And as I said before it wasn't like this before.
Agreed. And please, do not make any comments about it being fine unless you've actually played it in HDR. I'm comparing HDR to NON HDR. It is not just an opinion that it is dark but rather it is factually much darker than the non HDR counterpart. You can actually see in the dark without HDR but with it you cannot see ANYTHING.

Complaints about the HDR being too dark when the games HDR settings weren't even in any stress tests or betas.
It's enough to make a pirate throw his parrot out a port hole.Lol, fair point, but it was confusing since the game automatically triggered my TV's HDR mode despite that functionality apparently not being "turned on" yet.
I played some this morning, and it was much better, though I did jack up my OLED backlight before even starting the game. I still think a brightness slider (and general graphics options) would be welcome in the settings
