Possible effects of cursed chests

  • A chest that causes you to walk really slow or really fast.

    Or alters your sensitivity...

  • There are two cursed chests so far.

    1. Chest of Sorrows. A light blue chest that "Cries", filling the ship it's in with water constantly (Was waves to it and breaks)

    2. Chest of a thousand Grogs. A barrel bade into a chest, and makes the holder VERY drunk and stumble around. VERY hard to make it across a dock to the tent.

  • @cptncuttlefish Actually that is a VERY good point. Pirate Skulls are brimming with Magic as well, but what effects would they hold? Maybe the effects said captain had? Like always limping as if you jumped off a cliff, or only seeing half a screen?

And yeah, maybe the merchant quests can lead up to very rare and magic animals like the phoenix? Burning the ship/crew when scared or upset?

  • @cheatingpirate i know this but I believe the discussion is about other possible cursed chest effects

  • Chest Of Burdens

A chest that you can only carry for a limited time before you automatically drop it. You then have a cool down before you can pick it up again. Other members of your crew can pick it up as long as they are not suffering from the cool down also.

  • @smartyhausen Would be quit hard for a solo player tho.

  • Chest of the black spot, which makes you target #1 for the kraken lol

  • @zombie-p1ague you are correct, but there are a few already like that. The suggestion was just to give some variety.

  • The skull of Mad Jack McKillins, a skull that has a common value but increases in value everytime you kill something....... Actually an idea could be the skull tells you what it wants you to kill next eg it shouts something like

"i wish to feast on a chicken soul"
And then you have to go kill a chicken with the skull nearby. It could even ask you to kill other pirates.

  • @laughsmaniacaly do your saying a cursed chest that slowly goes up in value the longer you keep it on board. All the while it will be making requests and each request will be harder then the last. When you fulfill one of these requests the value of the chest raises slightly.

  • Dragon chest: A chest with a face of a dragon on the top, shoots fireworks from its mouth, up in the air after being dug up. Fireworks work like flairs, they transmit your signal to anyone nearby (don't need to see your ship, just need to see the fair to know where you are at.)

  • @red0demon0 oh great a cursed chest that sends fireworks Like flares. They could also make one that gives off a big Erie and and haunting glow in the sky above your ship.
Like the order of Souls lantern

  • Chest of Mischief
After you carried the Chest you are cursed with reverted Controls unless you cashed it in. Left is right and up is down. If you want to raise the sail you pull it down and that kind of things.

  • @zombie-p1ague was working on skull idea but yeah exactly you never quite know what its going to make you do next, from chugging the grog barrel to sinking another player.

The idea is you have to inact the crazy thought of whatever goes through mad jack's head.

  • What about some cursed skulls chest are getting all the fun?

  • @bedgroover72 I feel like summoning enemies work better for the skulls than the chest. One idea is that a skull summons skellies on land, attracts sharks in the sea, and summons ghost pirates on the ship.

  • @red0demon0 lol what about a chest that would slowly ignight in mysteries blue green flames slowly damaging your ship over time if you don’t throw water on it or vomit lol

  • @zombie-p1ague Lol I feel like you read my mind. I was thinking about the dragon chest just now and about how the flair would shoot into the air, but what about when it was in the lower decks of a ship? And I started thinking about something similar to what you said.

  • @red0demon0 lol who knows maybe they will let us combine Grog and vomit in a bucket to make something we can throw in the water and light on fire lol

  • Here's a new one, chest of thorns. The chest has a bunch of spikes that protrudes after half a minute passes. The chest starts to shake intensely, requiring pirates to put the chest down and step a few inches back before the spikes come out. Not doing so not only dishes out dmg but also pushes the player back.

  • @red0demon0 oh this could be done a few ways chest of eels it electrifies any one holding it after a few seconds not only damaging you but get hit to many times will knock your player out

  • @zombie-p1ague Lighting shock from the eel could also leave the player in a state of shock, unable to move (or unable to switch weapons/ fire them)

  • @homewardgnu3290 Chest of the Undead- Causes random spawns of skellys to attack on the ship if you have it on deck
Chest of Fright- Causes blindness or lack of vision on the holder meaning shipmates have to help guide

  • @HomewardGnu3290
That sounds like fun and also make things quite difficult in PVP though xD. I'd say if they don't board the ship you'd get slaughtered. Though the goal is not always to sink ships most people will want your booty so yeah great idea :).

    My Ideas:

    • Teleporting chest that moves around the ship or teleports every once in a while so you have to go searching for it but with a big reward!

    • Summoning chest that calls sharks(or other treats ?skellies climbing ship?) towards your ship.

    • Hot potato chest people can only hold it for so long or they DIE! (?) Then they become a zombie and attack teammates (?)

    • Musical chest that gets the attention of other players. So they know you have a rewarding chest!

    • Mythical creature chest chest that is guarded or sought out by a large mythical creature

    • Zueses Chest A bolt of lightning continues to strike your ship. (This is so-so for me but an idea)

    • Ghost chest Same as summoning chest really but with ghost pirates

    • Seasick Chest Every once in a while you have to stop in calm waters or your boat will sink in puke haha.

    • Fun Chest Just comical chest that are cursed to fill your ship with frogs or bunnies something like that.

    • Chosen Chest/Love Chest The chest chooses which player it likes the best and only he/she can carry it. (?)For those who steal it the chest gripes at them and but then see's your side of the argument(?). The person who steals it can be the only one to touch it then.

    • MAD Chest While on the seas the chest makes one crew member go mad and attacks crew members with cutlas one time until blocked (something of this nature not sure)

    • Frog chest makes you jump randomly

I know not all of these are the best but take them if you like to add to yours.

  • @smartyhausen said in Possible effects of cursed chests:

**ETHEREAL CHEST - ** if the chest is not being carried by a player for more than say 5 seconds it mysteriously vanishes, possibly returning to where you discovered it, or to another random location.

    @kermar-tutu
might be cool. I'd say your ship/crew dies if you don't get rid of the chest. As you get closer to an ending timer your ship becomes more ghastly until your ship is the "ferry of the damned".

  • That is an good idear they should add it in

  • mmmm mirage chest...
different visuals... or maybe ship trying to ram you, or ghosts on your ship, or maybe island you try to land but theres no island!))0 lsd chest))

  • Termite Infested Chest punches holes in the boat randomly. (Cheaper version of Sorrows useful for hiding on enemy ship for PvP fun)

Galvanized Chest causes lightning to hit the ship/people.

Poisoned Chest will proison anyone picking it up. (*Useful for deterring looters. *)

Gleaming Chest is expensive AND noticeable from a distance and outside the ship somehow.

    Bloody Chest attracts sharks.

War Chest fills cannon balls and bullets when picked up.

Chest of Spoils causes all bananas in storage or on players to spoil. (Disappear)

Plague Chest causes vomiting and damages player slowly.

Dead Man's Chest damages player quickly.

Achievement - Ship of the Apocolypse - have the War, Spoils, Plague, and Dead Man's Chest on ship.
