Hello, all! I've noticed I've never really introduced myself on these forums and now that the Great Alpha Member Rush of 2017 is over I have time to do so. So, without further ado,
I'm WhenKoalasattak, Captain WhenKoalasattak, or Brett irl, and I've been following this game since it first revealed at E3 in 2015. I've been in the Alpha since this March and have participated very sparsely (sadly) until a few months ago. Since November, I've been a very active member and come on the forums everyday to try to help new members - so if you have any questions feel free to ask, if I don't know then Musicmee knows; If he doesn't know then the Deckhands know. I live in Japan with my wife after we got married this year in May. We never had a proper, big ceremony, though, and we're going to America in late January to have it and our honeymoon, so, unfortunately I may not be able to actually play in the beta. (I hope I can get a few days in, but my xbox will be staying in Japan). My drink of choice is a strong Cuba Libre (Rum and coke) or a local favorite, chu-hai (Basically 9% shochu with carbonated, flavored water sold at every convenience store for cheap). I currently work as an English teacher, to no one's surprise, but am studying to take the FSOT next June. While waiting to play SoT, I'm learning how to play the piano, learning French and Japanese, sometimes programming my own games in Unity, and playing with my new Switch I got for Christmas :D If you see me in-game on a sloop, I'm always friendly. If you join me, we'll sail, collect treasure, sink galleons, and drink together. I'm working on starting a crew for this game called The Salty Dawgs, which will be a mostly RP/casual crew kind of like Puzzle Pirates style, which I was a huge player of for about 5 years until 2008 or so. I've also played PotCO a lot, but those are as far as I go for my pirate experience in MMOs (I also loved AC4) If you see me online, in-game or on the forums, feel free to say hello, invite me to sail with you, or ask a question. I love meeting new people! So, not really a "Welcome" in the sense that it's my first time on these forums, many of the old-hands know me, but more of a re-introduction on the proper channel for the newer shipmates. :D
