Having a useable longboat (rowboat) would be a spectacular addition. For one, there is a slight break in realism when you leap into the ocean carrying a chest full of gold. Also, it would mean one trip onto the island, then one trip back to the boat (instead of swimming back and forth for each chest or stack of supplies). The boat could have supply crates on it, providing the ability to load thirty bananas to take back to the ship in one go. Currently, the task of adequately supplying a vessel is slightly tedious.
The problem of the longboat... Where would it be put on the galleon. (I don't think the sloop needs one. It's already wee enough.)
Many have been talking about the longboat. I think it's implementation would require some finesse but add much.
