No, this is not about THAT topic.
The last seasons have been tumultuous to say the very least. Delayed Updates, largely panned Features, Bugs, Chaotic Doubloon Resets, Cancelled Events.
Why?
No seriously, Why? Saying you "missed the Mark" every other Month in a Developer update is one thing, but that is not an explanation.
The community wants answers. What is going on at Rare that causes so many problems?
And there are problems. It is so plainly obvious in the state of the updates that anyone except for the most casual observer can notice that.
Did Microsoft cut the Budget? How many people work on the game still? What is the plan for the upcoming seasons? Why has there not been a word about Season 21 so far despite season 20 being... nothing besides Custom Seas?
And if you cannot give any answers, at least state WHY you can't tell us. NDAs, Contract agreements, Management orders... Whatever..
People Will eventually find out anyways. That's not a threat, that's just the (un)fortunate reality. Human curiosity will always discover all but the most well hidden secrets.
You may think you don't owe us an answer. Or anything. That is false.
You clearly expected the community to keep financially supporting your game even as you ballooned the emporium while neglecting the Outpost stores.
You expected us to just keep playing even as you chipped away at the core gameplay experience from season 11 onwards.
You expected us to not complain as you set up a major antagonist with MONTHS of Events and Hype and then NEVER DID ANYTHING WITH HIM over 4 years.
You expected us to just accept that the direction of the game is just gonna shift every season between PvE, PvP and everything in between.
You expected us to forget the dozens of poorly implemented and delayed updates and features over almost 5 years at this point.
And we did. Because we love this game. The community kept this game alive.
But the least you could do is TELL US why we should even care anymore.
Because eventually, we won't.
