When they were explaining this act system they claimed they also wanted to make it easier for players to know when events would take place. So IE community weekend would be on week X of act 1 etc. At least I thought they said community weekend would be act 1. Considering Act 1 was during the holidays I don't know if that pushed it out or if it would have actually made it more appropriate and fitting to the season? But I know they like to have staff on for that event so doing it during family time isn't ideal (though the year they introduced hourglass they did boosted reputation gains over x-mas week)
Similarly wasn't last x-mas not only free gilded voyage every day but also voyage of luck every day? I thought it also had a gold & glory even in the mix. I might have missed it because I bought Blue Prince during the holiday sales and it's kind of been consuming all my free time and my dreams. But I haven't even thought about logging into SoT since it seemed like all they were doing was the rotating gilded voyage, no new gilded voyage for reapers or hunters call from what I could gather, no daily voyage of luck, no bonus reputation. So I kinda wrote this game off for the holiday.
