Disable pet interaction or change key bind.

The accidental pickups are exactly why I never take out my pets, and since I feel I can’t use my pets then I don’t bother buying anymore. I’d own so many more pets if I could change some settings. Like disable or change the interact button and also their noises. Sometimes I’d like to see my pets but not listen to them whine because enemies are nearby.

I’ve never once accidental picked up my pet during pvp. Mainly because they run and hide in locations you don’t normally need to click anything.

Players who seem to pick them up during these moments seem to do it on purpose. How? Because they left them out during PvP of course.

You're right. I have 7 or 8 pets and I do not ever bring any of them out. They don't stay where I put them and will often go sit somewhere that is annoying, like on the helm or in front of a cannon making me pick them up instead of using my precious time to get any pressure I can. Birds are the worst for it. They always fly to helm and even though I put them down somewhere else.

@burnbacon Shocking. That’s the only complaint I hear about pets. But I kind of expect you to disagree.

An easy and would be appreciated quality of life change f'sure.

Number of times you pick up a pet when you are trying to interact with ship is a pain.
