Nerf the Cutlass

  • @burnbacon there is the usual “make everyone use swords and ban double gun” claim this post was missing 😂🤣

The blowpipe has uses, killing large groups of players quickly and efficiently isn’t one of them.

The stamina bar makes sense to me. Also take stamina when actively blocking.

It anecdotal to say x streamer doesn’t do x
I can name a handful of NAL and Sea Of Champions players that 100% use the sword when up against effective crews running sword.

I agree that most these players have an unspoken agreement to dbl gun and most refuse to use the blunder now as it’s cringey.

Use what you want just stop demanding rare stack odds in your favor every update. Not at you burn, in general

The hypocracy is hilarious, because the whole goal of this topic to me (and many others who have reacted in here) sounds like "make everyone use double gun and de facto ban swords" 😂🤣😂🤣

  • @super87ghost not at all, id say use what you like. I want the 1 blunder back vs the ridiculous knock back (and odd 1 tap) as it was easier the break spawn camp with it, imo, and it definitely has saved me multiple times.

when you list out the abilities, both attacking and movement wise, you have to admit that Nothing else comes close to the sword. it does need something, be it a stamina bar, reduce damage at range so when you are swinging through multiple enemies.

I will definitely agree with you on that.

yes it does, since the sword can only do anything in close combat. So it is useless to try and attack a player with a sword that is on a bit bigger distance. Any other weapon has a way longer range. So to balance it out, the sword needs to be very strong in close combat, otherwise it's basicly useless in combat.

@jon-sea-nah said in Nerf the Cutlass:

    reduce damage at range

You can't reduce damage at range more than it already has, because as only weapon it has a 100% damage reduction at range and that range is already pretty close. Reducing damage even more is impossible.

  • Again interesting you agree that an area of the blunder again needs to be nerfed but we can’t talk about or look at the cutlass….. why?

    @goldsmen

It never ceases to amaze me how if a double gunner kills a player he is the devil, should be banned, ban double gun and nuke QS……

But when anyone mentions how broken the sword is we are met with…. “If you die to a sword you are just trash and should be better……” but if I’m better you want me banned and unable to use those things……

So which is it? Are sword users trash and need the buff? Is the sword broken and needs a nerf? OR is it simply people using a moving goal post to continue to try and make any argument against you impossible?

Swords never have to reload. Should a sword hitreg…. Smash M1 again, fighting multiple people? Not a problem you can hit and KILL multiple at a time. If you can’t kill a gally full of swords you just suck at dbl gun…… yeah ok

I’m killed far more by crews of molly whopping the sword than being dbl tapped or crossed. Honestly at least with the dbl gun at least I feel like I was out played vs 4 kids screaming and mashed by M1 over and over and over and over.

Sorry to get back to this so late, life has been very busy, but i have to say, you are completely missing my entire claim, i have never once claimed that sword is too weak or too op, nor have i said that about double gunning. My stance for years now has always been that neither is op if both sides always complain that the other is too strong.

You can look back on any topic about it that i have spoken on and my stance has not changed over the years. You are putting words into my mouth if you say im trying to make a claim that one or the other is over powered. The only thing i ever thought was over powered was the original blunderbus since it took swords advantage of short range and turned it into an instant kill, which is not a stance on sword or double gun issues, it was an old stance on a stat thats been long removed, and does not change that i think sword and DG are pretty balanced.

  • @goldsmen
Of course the one-blunder was too overpowerd.
But looking at the current state of the blunderbuss I think it would only be fair to atleast give it back a consistent knockback.
