JUMPING COOLDOWN

  • I'll say it here the pvp is mostly trash because of jumping peopke jump like kangaroos all over tge place and i think it wasn't meant to be like that you can't have good pvp experience so what i am suggesting is jumping cooldown you can do two jumps and your stamina will be drained so people will actually fight rather than jump around and this gives ability for new players to play this game many players have left the game because of the jumping that is the only thing dragging the pvp down people don't fight in the Sea of thieves like it was mean't to. The jumping cooldown would bring more players to the game more unique fighting styles and i think sword battles would be more interesting

  • Totally agree

  • @kallottaja jumping puts you in a predictable arc where you can't easily change directions, it is a noob thing to jump a lot

also that would feel terrible, this is not cs2, sot is a fast paced shooter

  • The jumping cooldown would bring more players to the game

I see this line of words used a lot...What makes you believe this very change would bring in..say million of players. Because jumping needs a cooldown?

What if Im not in combat and simply...Jump around to get back to my ship or get away from npc attacking me?

  • Why would making the game worse make more people want to play it?

Tools not rules. We all have the same tools to play with. Use them, and don't try to make arbitrary rules. Why only 2 jumps? Why not 3? Why not add a crouch cooldown too, and a sprint stamina bar, and an ADS stamina bar, where you can only ADS for a few seconds before you start suffocating? Because all of these are pointless rule additions, not tool additions. The limitations of what a player can do with a tool are not put in place by a game rule, but by the limits of the tool itself.

"Jumping is the ONLY THING dragging PvP down" That's just your opinion. Earlier today there was a guy who was complaining that swords are too overpowered and ruining PvP. Every week I see a different post about how something else is "Ruining PvP" and how "more people would play the game" if this one thing was changed. To the outside observer, that thing being changed or not being changed is irrelevant. They don't play the game, and they aren't going to be more or less likely to play SoT because of a balance patch that makes the gameplay slower and the platforming worse.

You also seem to have forgotten that this game has platforming, which will often require more than 2 jumps, so nerfing jumping like that would make it harder to do the lore/story content.

  • Anyone can do this though, it is not like its an unfair thing. If a person can kill you while jumping around then they can probably still do it without jumping around.

  • I think a functionnal pvp gameplay is more what you want, it's currently one of the worst out of all games with such pvp elements on the market, the way it works made me abandon pistol just to play sword/grapple gun.

Btw, if you shoot where the guy was standing before a jump, you still hit him full force.

  • Are you saying new players don't have the ability to aim up a tiny bit?

I'll say it here the pvp is mostly trash because of jumping peopke jump like kangaroos all over tge place

That's your opinion. Not a fact.

i think it wasn't meant to be like that

And what makes you think this?

you can't have good pvp experience

    Again; Opinion. Not fact.
YOU don't like bunny-hopping. So it makes the game worse for YOU.

so what i am suggesting is jumping cooldown you can do two jumps and your stamina will be drained

And this punished casual players and PvE players, solely to make a small amount of the PvP side happy.
Nah. You can't make a game better by making it worse for the majority of players.

so people will actually fight rather than jump around

People can fight WHILE jumping around.
It sounds more like you are salty you can't hit someone who is jumping, and so you want the game changed to cater to you.

and this gives ability for new players to play this game

Bunny-hopping is not some sort of impediment to people learning the game.

many players have left the game because of the jumping

Do you have any proof of this? Or is it just a vague claim meant to scare the devs into catering to you?

the only thing dragging the pvp down people don't fight in the Sea of thieves like it was mean't to

    Again; your opinion. Not fact.
And you have not made any proof that people are not meant to b-hop.

The jumping cooldown would bring more players to the game

How would making the game worse for the majority of PvP players & PvE players bring more players to the game?

    more unique fighting styles

Ah yes; Removing a fighting style would make more unique fighting styles...somehow.

and i think sword battles would be more interesting

More interesting how? You've just removed a mobility option & made sword fights WORSE.

Your post is basically 'I lost to someone b-hopping, so it should be removed so I lose less. Me getting what I want would somehow make the entire game better for everyone else.'

  • @kallottaja Nothing will make someone put this game down faster than their buttons not working randomly.
