The diving mechanic was a nice way to find active servers. But it's limiting the game experience, there's zero point keeping track of ships when they can vote to dive on a whim. SOT earlier days, you had to adapt to the server you were given. Whether if it was a friendly or hostile one, now though the seas are empty. I think dives should be restricted to hourglass or have a limit to how much a ship can change servers.
Diving Changes
@kianonboard I don't think that hurting the game as much as dives are. It's not as easily accessible.
@kianonboard If they made it so that it's no longer a server hop point. Keeping players in their current one, that would help.
@razorbandit7 Well how would that work? In APL Tall Tale, you get sent to a secluded area, then when you get sent to a new server. So with your logic, if they cancelled you'd want them to go back into the same server? (Which would hog up a space)
One way to fix all this.
Tall Tales: only doable in Safer Seas. Yeah it a long shot and Rare did say SS won’t have what HS doesn’t.
Next. Dives only good for Raids and you can’t dive again for 30min. Even if you logout. Or very least you have to finish the dive voyage/raid before able to vote.
That just my two cents. Surprised the servers can handle all the ships that dive around so often. Leaving servers, merging etc
@razorbandit7 when people began the over and above normal pvp, being it camping your ship and killing you, just being toxic or 1 of 100 other reasons, a call for a mechanic to leave a server for a different one became a popular ask so....here the results. T*rd in a punch bowl syndrome.
@burnbacon Those are plausible ideas to work with.
It's a wonder the servers can do that without overwhelming the system.
