"Stormy Seas" - Suggestion

  • "Stormy Seas" - A legendary experience

A hardcore variant of High Seas

    • All unique currency, (for example "Storm Tokens") instead of regular gold

    • Anything earned must be spent in-session on desired rewards. Once you leave/sink & die, you lose all your currency

    • Completely unique cosmetics, titles, etc.

    • Sinking and dying means end of session. Player/team get moved to new server as a fresh restart

    • Upgraded difficulty/health for all PvE content, as well as increase frequency of emergent threats

    • Rewards given for sinking players, stealing loot etc., but also for surviving on the sea

    • Pirate legend required to access. Prevents/limits new accounts that may be using "unauthorised methods to gain an advantage"

    • All "diving" mechanics are disabled

    • Alliances are disabled

    • Emissaries rise and fall, depending on how much loot is aboard. Eg. If you sell all your loot, emissary level drops back to 1

    • All Grade 5 emissaries become visible on map, regardless of faction

    • Emissary multiplier greatly increased for all factions to balance the risk/reward

    Same game, played differently.
With this mode, there is clearly an underlying encouragement to PvP, with the caveat that any PvP encounter now has to be more carefully considered.

Would love to hear player's feedback

  • Or just make high seas better. :p

  • Anything that requires its own server won't ever be added. It has to take place in the ordinary high seas world servers or else it will cost more than its worth to keep running

I think it’s an interesting idea, but rather than a separate server/mode it might be doable as a section of the map. Once entered, the Stormy Seas ruleset applies, once exited normal rules apply and nothing gained from within stormy seas transfers. That’s oversimplified and I’m sure it would be super complicated to create, but a cool idea nonetheless.

Edit; I envision a huge storm that must be sailed through in order to reach the area, which is completely surrounded by a storm.
