Request for Separate Sensitivity Sliders for Harpoon, Cannon, and Spyglass

  • I'm currently playing at 1600 DPI with Mouse Sensitivity set to 1.0, which is the lowest possible value. Even at this setting, the general camera movement still feels too fast for me. If values below 1.0 were available, I would use them to feel more comfortable during normal gameplay.

    However, while the overall sensitivity feels too high for me, these specific tools — the harpoon, cannon, and spyglass — feel much slower than expected, to the point of frustration. The only way to make them feel somewhat okay is by increasing Mouse Sensitivity, but that makes regular gameplay far too fast.

    Some players who use DPI cycling on their mice or already use very high sensitivity settings may not experience this issue, but for those who don't, it can be quite frustrating.

    It would be a huge quality-of-life improvement to have individual sensitivity sliders for these specific tools. I believe many players would benefit from this level of customization.

  • You can move your cannon aim around faster using WSAD. The mouse is for micro adjustments.

  • I understand that, and I do use WSAD, but players with high sensitivity or who use DPI cycling can do this much more comfortably. But for players like me who use low DPI and low sensitivity, even micro-adjustments with the mouse require exaggerated hand movement.

  • Yes please! This has been a very weird area for me as a cannoneer in specific. Like cannons are where i shine in combat, but at the same time, they have always been weird with the mouse.

  • Cannons are meant to be heavy so thats why they move slow, and the harpoon doesn’t seem like a bad idea, and spyglass sure why not.

  • Able to aim cannons faster would be a balance adjustment needed.

    I get that cannons are meant to feel heavy, but when you're using WASD, you're already moving at maximum speed. This means players who use DPI cycling or very high DPI can move the cannons almost as fast as with WASD, but if you don't have DPI cycling or use low sensitivity, then... it's a different story. We're not even talking about flicking the cannons with the mouse here.

  • @burnbacon No, it really wouldn't. Cannon aim speed is perfect where it is. It's perfectly balanced there, not so fast that you can track targets like a gun, but not so slow you can't adjust for rock and angle
