So I remember when I first started playing this game it was launch day and within a week I discovered that if me and my crew bought a load of merchant voyages each and started them then picked up the crates and cancelled them and started another we could amass 20-30 chicken coops on our ship, we would only take chickens because the other animals wanted feeding and the golden chickens were worth good gold, anyway, why do you now have to pick up your crates from an island I feel like this was a fundamental part of the game and maybe this change was to fix this very issue but I miss loading my ship up with 20 chicken coops

@potatosord that's how it always was though and how are chicken crates much different to commodities or treasure?
@bumpersum967441 The definitely made it so you can only buy a handful of commodities, and treasures are not infinite either. If you could cancel it and buy more, that means you could buy literally infinite.
@potatosord I'm sure I could still do this in season 10 from launch, it's not something I did often but I liked doing it for fun to reminisce on the good old days arr, it was a good system too because eventually my merchant level got too high and I'd no longer get the chicken voyages so I had to recruit lower level pirates to put down the chicken voyages
@potatosord that's exactly what I'm telling you that you could do, you didn't have to buy them either well you had to buy the voyages so in a way you bought them
@bumpersum967441 And if the last time you remember it working was 2 years ago maybe that should be a sign that its been a while and maybe a lot has changed
@potatosord nothing has changed for the good they've just removed the ability to stack chicken crates like you could
@potatosord chicken coops are useless without chicken in them there's not much point taking infinite, I feel like they may of eventually stopped giving you them I can't remember but the voyages cost gold so you only get what crates you're going to fill up, they could of just put a cap on crates that's what I'm saying
@bumpersum967441 The point in making infinite would be to lag the servers, which is why they made it so you can no longer spawn infinite anything
I remember doing this as well. Years ago I was working on merchant commendations, and joined a crew also working on it. We had so many cages with pigs buried, organized. That way if a voyage called for whatever, we had the pigs already ready and waiting. It went really fast and the organization made it easy.
For whatever reason, they removed the option to purchase voyages from factions, including those that would allow you to collect lots of cages, making merchant voyages go faster.@europa4033 that's basically what we did but just with chicken we would get 20 odd chicken on the boat mainly golden but take a few others so we didn't have to cancel as many voyages to get the right ones, then we would sail in and out of the outpost/delivery point completing the voyages and starting them again, cancelling them if we didn't already have the golden chickens, we were basically just looking for the same voyage I think it was 3-4 golden chicken.. Anyway I don't see how stacking crates was a bad thing its a bit like stacking forts it just allowed you to do the same thing with a bit less sailing. Also I'm sure you could still do this but it would mean sailing island to island to stack the crates and I preffered picking them up from the merchant trader, had some fun times doing this, defending our chicken haul etc.
@potatosord You're not listening I don't have infinite gold, nobody does, infinite is incorrect yeah you could get alot of them but it took time to setup as well and nobody has infinite time and gold, it was also difficult to encourage the whole crew to invest this time and get the low level traders to cancel their voyages and invest in the plan
@potatosord It may of been unintentional as well or even an exploit but it was real fun and I think they should of kept it as an option or just make it so you can get coops from the trader within limit, like how you buy hunting spears. You could do this for most of the games life I don't know why they have taken it away
@potatosord you've obviously never experienced having 30 chicken onboard your ship, it's launch week you have no gold and you just wasted like 1k on voyages to get 20 chicken coops to fill up with chicken and you need to see a return on your investment, this was sea of thieves at it best
