Can you please add or fix the skill based match making in hourglass PVP I’m tired of facing level 3,000 in the Athena faction as a level 15 servants of the flame. It is miserable to play against people 100 times better then me everytime.
Hourglass Skill Based Matchmaking
@jbgamer9241 Levels in hourglass are more a indictor of how much they have played rather than actual skill level, as you can grind/loss frm matches out repeatedly in order to level up (you just get there faster by winning). Also restricting the matchmaking to levels close to you exclusively would result in extremely long wait times or finding no matches at all since Hourglass is typically a low population activity compared to the rest of the game. It does look to find others in your area around the same HG level, then when finding none expands the parameters. All this is confirmed by your own stated experience here.
Furthermore, how would you suppose to determine someone's "skill level" in this game? For one, most times it is teams/crews competing from 2 to 4 players per ship so how do you differentiate between the players for "skill level"? Also many times the crew/team is not the same, thus further complicating your matchmaking algorithm. Also there are many, many ways to victory in a match as well - a lot of them not well tracked or considered when determining a player's skill (such as keg bombings, running ship out of combat zone, and other clever and inventive strategies). So in short there is no well defined, consistent way to determine a player's or crew's "skill level" for mean's of matchmaking, which is why Rare focused on win streaks instead for matchmaking purposes.

So you rather wait long hours for a fight? Or get straight into a fight.
Also, this isn’t a comp fight. Skill ceiling is always dropping, growing, changing, nerfed and nonexistent at the same time.Plus….how do people know what the other player level is? Why does a lvl 100 player lose to a lvl 5 most the time? Those lvl mean nothing
This is how it works by default, but when it says "Looking for opponent, use the war map to cancel matchmaking" it's telling you that there is no one near enough to your skill level so it has to open up the limits a bit, and every time it shows it its giving you potentially a stronger and stronger or weaker and weaker opponent.

Personally yeah, i'd wait longer times to get actual opponents i have a fair shot against compared to people who will run to the far edges after one hole or obliterate me with no time to even fire a cannon or learn anything from the fight or worst of all, the speedrun boarders who sail you out of bounds and somehow blasting off the ladder doesn't even stop them regrabbing and climbing up it. or blasting you and regrabbing.

The gamemode is "dead" that's why you get queued up with people that is still trying to level it up and they are often 1000+ since most people are happy once they achieve 100.
I recommend only playing HG when there is a x2 event active, way more people and in general are the matches better.
If only it was updated more than once :(
