private bigger servers

  • It has been a few years I had this idea in mind, and at first when the "servers" were announced to be a thing, I thought it'd be finally possible. But it was only for groups of 4 players.

Even though it is still a good option for players who wants to stay in small groups or play solo, I think we were a bit disappointed.

But I think it would be a nice idea to have the ability to create servers able to have up to 30+ players, and if it is possible to control world events that'd be incredible, either directly in the game or with outside parties like for Minecraft or GTA V servers.
Of course it could have it made so no exp or gold or achievements are obtained through those servers, but it could also make people unite either in roleplay groups or even in events created by groups or streamers/influencers.

It would be fair if those servers have to be paid by the person wanting to hold them of course !

  • This has been a long and popular request from the player base.
Custom/Private servers in this game exist (Partnered Server perks) but RARE doesn't seem to care enough to update them for literally years outside of fixing actual server issue bugs in them.
The foundation has been present for years...

Imma keep beating a dead horse since it needs to be repeated:
Custom public servers (Even a payable fee) will rejuvenate those small sub community's back up again. I also WON'T be surprised if it ever becomes a reality in the last dying breathes of the game in order to revive player count back up a bit in say Season 24 when we get there. Probably a feature tacked on alongside a season? But it begs the question if it's worth their time, when it apparently takes a whole team to introduce a spear and a boar in the game or a new cannon type for a whole season... That's the level we are talking about...
Now imagine a custom server with fully fledged WORKING feature set, would take several seasons of updates to it.

PS: The whole ''Tools not rules" and ''Sandbox'' gimmicks they often use is laughable when there's not actual ''tools'' in the game to play with,. NO. Game mechanics and what's splattered in the world are game features, not ''tools''.
SoT is the only game to claim to be a ''sandbox'' without a custom server option for the masses. I don't regard it as a true sandbox experience if I have to spend hours trying to accomplish a single task that can be done with one click in a feature set., there's no crafting/ world building or game modding. It's as barebones as is and you make your OWN adventure in your head which is the ''sandbox'' that they claim...

    tl:dr
Game has built the foundation for potential custom servers (SoT Partners) but has never been pushed for years on end and they seem to be actively ignoring this request for years, as evident.

  • I think it's absurd that SOT partners have to go after resources, do missions and other things, spending hours to prepare a server to hold a community event... If these tools don't even exist for those who generate content, I doubt Rare will do anything open to the public.

  • Pretty sure it’s a on working thing. But it’s not something they feel the need to really spend a lot of time on.

When the current game itself seems to always break XD

  • That'd be such a boost for the game though, even if it isn't perfect and has some bugs. I mean, look at GTA V, it's a decade old, still has tons of bugs and glitches despite regular patches, and still, there are tons of options to achieve a roleplay server, either within the game options itself, or through outside servers and options.

SOT has so much potential for that if they just tried to make it happen, or accessible.
