Bring back qs

  • Hi, I’d like to share some feedback on the removal of Quick Swap (QS).

QS was never an exploit — it was a skill-based mechanic that made PvP faster, smoother, and more fun. It allowed quick reactions and creative playstyles. What doesn’t make sense is that QS still works with the sword, so why not allow it for double gunning too?

QS didn’t make double gunning overpowered — in fact, other setups like sword + gun are often much stronger. By removing QS, balance has been lost, and the game now favors slower, easier playstyles instead of rewarding skill.

It also helped with bad hit reg — when a shot failed to register, players could quickly switch and try to recover. Now, that option is gone, and fights feel sluggish and frustrating.

You don’t even need to bring back full QS. A good compromise would be to just speed up the weapon swap animation by 20–30%. That way it feels more natural and responsive, but still balanced and fair.

Please consider reintroducing QS, or at least improving weapon swap speed — even as an optional setting in private or competitive modes. It would make PvP feel more skillful and satisfying again.

I’m asking this respectfully and without any toxicity — I’m a dedicated TDM player, and I know I’m not alone in feeling this way. There are many active TDM Discord servers and a strong part of the community who miss the fluidity and depth that QS brought to PvP. We’re passionate about the game and just want it to feel as responsive and skillful as it once did.

I also want to admit — I used to be the kind of player who complained about better players. But I’ve grown past that, and now I believe it’s right for games to reward skill and allow players to improve and grow.

Thanks for your time and for working on the game!

  • @fellow77307 I would also add that quick swap wasn’t an exploit because it was a mechanic that had been in the game for a long time and players had been using it as part of the core gameplay. It was a skill that became a natural part of the game and was accepted as a legitimate combat technique. It was only removed due to complaints from less skilled players who didn’t understand it as part of the bigger gameplay system. Instead of learning and improving, they chose the easier route by removing this mechanic, which disadvantaged those who had mastered and used it.

  • The ability to 'quickswap' was never an intended feature and gun swapping has now been brought in line with the original intent. At this time there are no plans on reverting this fix.

    Dropping anchor here.
