A massive missed opportunity with traps that could have worked with Hunter's call is the fact that you'd be able to load food into the traps and depending on what food you attract a certain animal like for pigs/boars it would be fruit, Worms/grubs/leeches it would be chickens.
Pigs and chickens it would be an instant kill on boars however it would make them stuck for a small amount of time after time passes they would move slower than normal.
Also placing a trap in a animal containment like a pig cage snake basket chicken cage would allow you to place an animal trap. That doesn't kill the animal but captures it.

It really is funny how a lot of people who put them into their media dont depict bear traps for actually hunting much, and in the rare times they do, they only depict them being the cause of an accident on a person. I guess people forget they were used for hunting despite bear being in the name.
