Noticed that some players don't bother with gold piles, as they just give you gold, but what if there was a chance of a random small trinket loot item buried inside that you could pick up after you pick up the gold? I think that would be cool and reward exploration.
Gold piles should have a chance of revealing a small trinket when picked up
Maybe. But it seems most players don’t bother with the little trinkets either, or it could just be me.
Don't mind the suggestion.
Also wouldn't mind if Rare just gave the existing ones a bigger range and called it a day.
For example - big(ger) piles 3 - 5k, medium 1,5 - 2,5k, small 0,5 - 1k.
But yea, like most people in the comments section, even the current situation doesn't bother me simply cuz I'm not wasting time on them lol
I pick up my gold piles and find that it pretty much pays for repairing my ship every play session plus a little extra most nights. I’ve always assumed it was a guaranteed way to pay for your current play session so your gold doesn’t “go down” even if you sink.
That said, I agree with you on this. I’d even like to see something like a lottery for a new unique 1,000 value treasure that has a 1/100 chance. That’s equivalent of a blue mermaid gem so I think that makes sense.
Nice thought though! I’ll definitely be thinking about that when I pick up piles.
Its an odd thing that people dont deal with gold piles when grabbing them can add up so fast to be worth more than a trinket or some chests. If people cant bother with gold piles that cant be stolen once taken and would only take them if they could turn into a trinket of similar value (depending on the piles size) that could be stolen, thats a problem with the logic of the player, not with the piles them selves.
Players often follow some very strange logic, dodging some things that can be better just because they some how logic out that its not as good as it really is, and then of their own choice miss out on something good because of it. In this case, missing out on multiple trinkets worth of gold that cant be stolen, in favor of trinkets that some times are worth less than the pile it was next to that can be stolen.
Player logic some times cant be explained, and leaves me very confused.
