Having picked Sea of Theives back up in the last few months i have run into more people using blunderbombs to pvp people than anti ship. i have also noticed that as the thrower you take reduced damage even if thrown at your feet... it feels like these need to be nerfed to be used as anti ship like they were primarly intented with minor damage to crew when hand thrown, this should correct pvp combat to be more skill based instead of throwable spam 24/7.
Blunderbomb Nerf
@captdirtyoar it's actually best to hit the middle of the top deck, at either the front or the back. Depending where you hit it the shop will either rotate towards or away from SDT (center of the map). Therefore keeping in mind where you are, relative to that, allows you to efficiently and accurately rotate ships with only a few blunderbombs.
@fysics3037 I've been playing this game for 3 years and didn't know that, that's actually really helpful
They were already overly nerfed at the start of season 8, they dont need to be any more nerfed and if anything should be brought back up in spawn rate after their nerf in function from that update.
Just because they are still useful enough to still have a place in pvp doesnt mean they need to be nerfed until that isnt the case any more. They arnt intended as just a utility, they are supposed to be both a util and damage dealer, and trying to turn it near exclusively into util will make them not even worth while to get.
@goldsmen The nerf in the cannon i 100% get, the issue with them now is people use them as a primary weapon which is not what they were intended for.
@fysics3037 lol cheeky response, took me a sec to get what you mean. but still not the point of they shouldnt be being used as a primary weapon, only thing Rare needs to do is reduce the damage they do to players (only when thrown) and remove the damage reduction for the one who threw it.
@nyx-ng8330 a weapon is always more reliable, has more range, more damage, and more ammo. I really just don't see the point in a nerf. It's not like there's an abundancy of players using them.
@nyx-ng8330 there’s no damage reduction from hitting yourself, it does 50 damage as normal
Why do you say using them as a weapon is unintentional? I see nothing hinting to that
@captain-knyt was it intended for people to carry a stack of them and rush pvp with only those by spamming them for kills then repeat? pvp was way better when it actually required skill to fight and not spamming throwables, i have no over all issue with there additon just reduce player damge is all thats needed.
@nyx-ng8330 They are very hard to hit direct hits with, and they do not do a ton of splash damage. Just dodge or hide
