Hiiii, First post ☺️
Let's talk PVP! So iv found most commonly that players struggle with the PVP side of things when on High Seas. So I know that we can enter Safer Seas to practice our helm skills and the overall multitasking when against ghost fleets & skelly ships. I think to make it more realistic when practicing that the skellys should beable to board player ships and fight like an online player would by, dropping ankers, sword fighting & blunder bombing. I also think it would be good to have the choice of activating and option similarto HG with the glass, but with this you can set the mode to Easy , Medium & Hard. So 'Easy' would be : general ship fighting as normal (Cannon firing only) • Medium - ( Cannon fire with normal balls and scatter shots , boarding & anchor dropping) • Hard ( All cannon fire balls , boaring, anchoring & PvP) as I believe alot of players struggle with the pvp aspect , it would be a game changing addition!!
Thanks for reading.
LET'S TALK PVP 👄
There is no preparing people for what they are realistically gonna face in current SoT pvp if they are the underdog in the scenario.
It's gonna be a lot of pressure, it's gonna be a lot of spam by other players, and there are gonna be a lot of exploits that show up. It's going to be a lot of bugs and things happening that shouldn't happen.
The best thing that the majority of sot players can do is build a system of progress outside of winning fights. People can steal without a sink, people can get loot turned in without a sink, people can make progress without a sink.
Relying on sinking others as the only source of "winning" or "victory" is going to be a very tough road to go down as an underdog in SoT pvp.
High seas is all mindset and that's why safer seas will never prepare anyone for challenging experiences in high seas.
Once a person adopts a mindset to where pvp is just a part of the experience like everything else then a lot of the frustrations of pvp become less potent.
SoT is less and less of a game about individual skill and more and more a game about numbers. No point getting frustrated in an environment where number of players and type of boat is the mostly the deciding factor outside of casual encounters. It's only gone in the direction of being more difficult to solo in a challenging fight and easier to pack fight in any fight.
They should just add some official tdm (hand to hand combat) features so that you can independently practice that part of combat. I definitely think its a struggle point for new players but nothing is really gonna help except practice. It's just really really hard to get that practice without spending hundreds of hours on the game, leading to a large skill divide.
Pvp is very different in sot compared to most other games. And pve in safer seas cannot prepare for that no matter what you do to skelly ships. Their movement is no where up to par to a player, even a new one. This alone makes them super easy to kill. Also they can’t fight as quickly as a player could and super predictable.
If one wants to get better at pvp you just gotta go do it. Go ship hunting with reapers raised and get pvp practice.@strikeboy01 said in LET'S TALK PVP 👄:

Imo best boats/crews to train against are casual brig and galleon crews. Not inexperienced but not interested in being sweaty. These crews are really really good practice.
Imo the goal is never to flex on them either. It's all about the practice. Defense, offense, random scenarios, strats, trial/error.
Make it fun, no flexing or getting fired up about it, just getting in the reps.
Not much combat in this game that is more fun than having a back and forth 1v4 where it's not about showing off or ego, just fun practice. Best way to find them is to start the fight. Imo don't go into it to sink them right away. Crockpot that fight, let it heat up and cook for a while. A lot to learn in goofy adventure fighting.
Adventure fighting is always about win conditions in random scenarios, not being the best, not looking good, just completing objectives, even when one of the objectives is just having a good time.
Always be considerate about the other crew's situation. A fight is a dance and the dancing and the fighting are better when everyone is on the same page.
