Barnacled Dread

  • For a sloop crew, this took WAY too many cannon balls/tridents/bullets/blunder bombs/chain shots/scatter shots/fireballs to kill.
Once the armor has been removed, it should take the same number as a regular meg.
This battle took forever to complete and the loot was lack luster.
No reason to do this again with the amount of supplies used and time used to do this.

  • True, same can be said with the redmaw too, they are not crew sized balanced, rare needs to fix this to crew size

  • @xooghostoox4733 there is not just one piece of armor, it has multiple spots of armor.

Once a piece is removed that spot becomes vulnerable and if you hit such a spot it shows with lighting sfx and vfx.

It is not hard to beat, does cost a bit of supplies but nothing insane imho. I have beaten both megs both soli and duo.

I am just wishing back to the days of the original hungering one from the hungering deep, now that was a challenge

    @XenomorphBen570

It is somewhat crewsize balanced, if was fighting it solo and all of a sudden it started making more holes because another sloop joined the fight

  • Both megs were extremely tanky, making the fight rather tedious. Also the fact that the loot is very low value makes the experience not really worth the risk of having to contest the fight. Unless they tweak a few stuff, i can't really see people engaging with the ancient megs after they complete their commendations.

  • Meg is indeed too powerful. They need too many shells, and even if all the shells I purchased from the trading post are spent, they cannot kill, which forces me to go to multiple trading posts to purchase shell boxes.

  • This battle took forever to complete and the loot was lack luster.

Sigh…. Give it a week or so and will see this butchered until it just like catching fish. Simple easy and forgotten.

  • Some feedback regs are always asking for tougher pve, this is what that looks like. Reminds me a lot of the ashen lord before it got nerfed and the loot buffed.

The real issue is that it appears to be a last hit gets the comm credit? or has a real close closed area for credit.

I did one and got the kill notification but no comm credit.

Can have a tough boss fight but it's gotta be a situation where everyone involved gets credit. Otherwise random stuff can cause it to not count. Everything from pve to glitches.

Difficulty can be alright as long as the loot matches it and everyone that gets hits gets credit. Otherwise people are gonna abandon this quick, organically.

With all that being said it's incredible how intense they made these.

As far as a pve/pvp naval fight goes it's the best in the game. It's chaos and that has been missing from the game for a long time.

The fire one is AWESOME to watch.

  • @callmebackdraft

I get this, I do understand it has armor and I do agree.. Hence why I said, once the armor has been removed (meaning ALL the pieces) its HP should be the same as a normal meg.

  • @xooghostoox4733 a normal meg is no challenge at all especially on a sloop, the armor is gone quite easily and a regular meg is only about 10 cannonballs on sloop…

I love it finally being a bit more of a challenge i wouldnt have minded it being harder
