  • Simple and awesome, a very good idea

  • But Flameheart and Pirate Lord are opponents…

Don’t get me wrong I want a curse like this, but it just can’t make any sense lore wise, unless it is a phantom skeleton curse, because the phantoms work for Flameheart.

  • I object to that statement dragon man, lore wise the ghosts are not technically on either side, while you do obtain the ghost curse from the pirate lord, a lot of the ghosts in the sea of the damned are not even pirate legends and for that matter don't care about the pirate lord's idea of the pirate life. Graymarrow became a ghost and ,correct me if I'm wrong, was on the side of Flameheart himself.

  • I imagine most of the people here are thinking of this idea like a skeleton curse with a ghost filter on it, but I feel like it would be a cooler idea to have it instead be something similar to the skeleton ghost enemies we fight in the monkey island tall tales. It would be cool to have something like that, where you're still able to look like a skeleton and have the ghost effects at the same time, but your clothes wouldn't be ghostly like your body.

Maybe not something EXACTLY like those enemies in the tall tales because at least for me personally I wouldn't like it to be just a Monkey Island curse, but something similar that allows you to combine elements of both existing curses while being able to wear your normal outfits.

This could be attainable through a new third faction, when (if) they start doing more stuff with the dark brethren.

  • @maxmegavenom

Which is why I said unless it was a Phantom skeleton curse.

  • did you read one word of that man?

  • Yup; the ones from Monkey Island would be amazing for working through both Allegiances. +1

  • I've seen people bug out able to do this, does look very cool. Although I'd maybe say higher than hundred in both

Nope. Terrible idea from my point of view, because:

    1. OR you are a ghost OR you are skeleton. Being both it just doesn't make any sense.
    2. As being said: FH and Ransey are opposites. It is a terrible idea to unite them in a combinated curse.
    3. It would serve only as a showoff thing. The next steps will be distinction rings and ragdolls of skeleton-ghosts. Totally banal aspect with no respect for the story the game started to tell years ago.

edit: If you just want a cosmetic that looks like that, just buy a Spinal Costume at the emporium and use the ghost curse. You would look like this:

  • I'm all for this, although I would like a new tab to be created for this change... there are other effects present on NPC skeletons that could be placed in this tab alongside the ghost curse for the skeleton.

And going further, along with the normal ghost filter there should be a red version of the ghost curse for the skeleton too, like Flameheart appeared when he was a ghost... I don't think there's an official explanation in the lore but I believe it's due to the individual being cursed by ashen or maybe ashen + skelly and when he becomes a ghost he appears reddish.

There are ghostly skeletons, Graymarrow and Flameheart are two of them, from what I know when a skeleton died the curse is not removed from it...

Furthermore, there is an aesthetic difference between the Ghost curse and Athena's blessing(blue and yellow), the Blessing has small glowing particles around the hands. The Pirate Lord himself has Athena's blessing, he is not a real ghost... The blessing and probably also the legendary curse are given through the amulet he wears.

Just to mention one more, there are also the wraiths, which I believe are not victims of the skeleton curse, but they also sport this mixed look (by the way, one of the coolest in all of SOT)

Edit: I would really like a costume tab to use with the skeleton curse, this being one of the equippable costumes, also from Dark Warsmith and Bonechiller... thus keeping the noise of bones and emotes of the curse even with the costume.

Ok, I give you the (not very well thought on part of Rare) existanse of GM and FH. But... with that logic, you are saying that GM and FH have at least 100 levels of Athena.

Do you see the contradiction here?

  • @captthreepwood In my opinion, the means of obtaining it is kind of irrelevant as long as the skin itself is not a contradiction to the Lore... if it is for level 100 in both it seems more interesting to me because it combines the prize of both factions, since there will be no ritual but rather a purchase in the store I don't see a problem. But I don't care if it is level 250+ in the Servants faction, I just want to see this combination.
(The ghostly effect for the skeleton just can't have glowing particles, or it won't be the Ghost curse but rather Athena's Blessing)

The sword of the servant of flame is obtained by a commendation from Athena, I don't see much of a problem with that.

In my opinion, I hope not, because it would be an insult. But Rare is giving less and less [mod edit] every day for the glory. It is all about the gold now. So I bet that your wish will become true.
