6-Year Veteran & Avid PvPer with 2,000+ Hours Frustrated by Report Handling
I’ve been playing Sea of Thieves for over six years and have invested more than 2,000 hours into the game. As a dedicated PvP player, I’ve encountered my fair share of hackers, cheaters, and toxic players, but I always make sure to report these issues when I feel the evidence is strong enough. I take extra care to capture footage, especially during live streams, to ensure my reports are backed up by solid proof.
Until recently, I’ve never had issues with the reporting process. My cases typically move forward without issue, thanks to the detailed evidence I provide. However, this week, things took a very frustrating turn.
After submitting a report about a cheater, I included a brief description and mentioned that I would provide links to my footage. Instantly, an employee named "Captain Savage" marked the report as “Solved,” citing that there wasn’t enough evidence. This didn’t sit right with me because I hadn’t had a chance to provide the links yet. Assuming there was a misunderstanding, I followed up by uploading several minutes of in-game footage to back my claim.
To my surprise, a couple of days passed, and when I checked my case again, it had been closed once more—again by Captain Savage—with no explanation and no sign that my footage had even been reviewed. I’m left feeling completely ignored, especially considering the amount of evidence I submitted.
Is this how future reports will be handled? Will our evidence simply be dismissed without proper consideration or feedback? This experience has left me feeling neglected and disrespected as a long-time player who genuinely wants to help maintain the integrity of the game.
I’m hoping Rare takes this seriously and that Captain Savage can provide some clarity on why my case was closed without explanation. This is not the experience I’ve come to expect from Sea of Thieves, and I believe others who report cheaters will be able to relate to the frustration of feeling ignored.
