so i was thinking about how good it would feel to have a cheater banned automatically while i'm about to lose my hg streak to them, and i came up with this: have you ever tried to automatically suspend anyone under 72 hours playtime, that gets reported? I feel like this would cause a lot of frustration for them, also if they ban-evade they might have to play the maiden voyage again, making the seas safe for a little longer, for example during a busy event.
cheater ban condition
@sakorn this would also hurt anybody that just started playing the game and bad-actors using this system to reliably get rid of people and also impact rare’s/sot’s image
As soon as a reliable way to mess with people is found, people will abuse it.
As we can see with cheat software developers, they find out any and all weaknesses and exploit the heck out of it for financial gain
Your suggestion is that new accounts, which include alts (the cheaters often) and brand new players should get auto-banned if someone reports them? I understand people are frustrated with the cheaters but this is not the way to combat it.
@sakorn you know you can just leave the maiden voyage the moment you enter by quitting game and that bypasses it?
@sakorn That would mean to blindly enforce the Code of Conduct without taking in consideration the circumstances. Mass banning is not a solution, this is why support investigates each incident separately.
