I don't even think I need to explain so I won't
Tall tales that actually affect the story
@Mermaid-Aze adventures followed the structure of
-
to complete his plan - go get it"
-
Pirates get [x]
-
"Flameheart also needs [y], go find that"
-
repeat next week
they didn't really add anything to the story or provide any good narrative. there were parts of adventures that were cool and should have been kept in the game to be accessed, such as the herald of flame in the ashen winds event, or the hideout beneath Port Merrick.
If we had tall tales that focused on wrapping up what was left unfinished in the adventures that would be something, given there is so many unfinished story lines in it. Not to mention new players can't have experienced adventures because of FOMO.
What I think @MAXMEGAVENOM wants is tall tales that do have an impact on the SoT world, and aren't self contained stories like the monkey island tall tales, something with the in game characters that affects the world and isn't just contained in a small area away for the sea of thieves

@theredhead5271 how would this work though because tall tales need to be repeatable, and available for everyone so it can't really be massively impacting. I agree in that it was always weird that while we were doing this whole battle with flameheart or trying to bring him back I could go and do heart of fire and release him again..
Adventures had this but that means they have to be time limited and world changing which wasn't massively popularWell since you won’t explain we are just guessing what you mean.
Guessing. You want to do a TT which after completing will affect “your progression” by the actions you took. Either A or B path.
By that the next event or story will go off what majority of what players chose.Thing is. Similar to when Reapers fighting over an outpost back in the day. That choice wasn’t real. They already had a plan and just gave the players illusion of choice.
What I mean is a classic pirate adventure that has twists and turns and isn't just another Flameheart being such a big deal, they could do it but it's just repetitive. And I want it to make an impact, something big maybe even bigger than Merick's death. The point is tall tales should change the story again
