Taking Over the Ship: Pirate Style

  • I had quite the experience while playing on an open crew today, and I wanted to share it with you all. It all started when I dropped a quest and noticed a BB event happening on the server. One of the players said, "SO WHAT?" I pointed it out, saying, "Event on the server, what else, lol?"—just mentioning the event that was going on nearby.

A player didn’t like that reply and locked me up, killed me, and kept saying I had to apologize to be released. He didn’t stop there—he kept killing me with Firebombs and Blunderbombs until I finally said sorry.

Once I apologized, he joked about locking me up for fun when he was off with another player. I wasn’t having it, so I found a keg and placed it next to the brig, preparing for the next round.

Later, I helped kill some skeletons, only to have this guy follow me around, throwing Firebombs and Blunderbombs.

So I just returned to the ship, and the same guy came back to the ship, leaving the other crew member to do the event, just to try to hit me with more Firebombs and Blunderbombs while standing right under the keg he didn’t know was there. I threw a Blunderbomb to set off the keg, killing him. To my surprise, another teammate had voted to lock him up when I opened the menu, so I followed suit and told him I’d release him if he apologized like he made me. The other crew member just started laughing.

He kept claiming he was the captain, but I declared, "No, I’ve taken control. I’m the captain now." He didn’t like that and threatened I’d regret it.

After selling the loot, and once the other crew member left, I saw I had full voting control. I closed the crew, started PvP, voted him out, and dropped anchor, saying, "Good luck," as the PvP ship came in for the kill and had players boarding.

Sometimes, you’ve gotta take control like a true pirate would when their captain is unfit to lead. lol.
