Not exploiting means you’re at an immediate disadvantage

  • Probably gonna get a lot of hate and rude comments from
    People but I don’t care.

I refuse to crud launch, silent board or use any exploit when attacking ships or engaging in hg already putting me and my crew at a disadvantage while hour glassing. I don’t see how using certain exploits to win games in a competitive field is allowed. The devs obviously don’t care or they would actually do something about it.

I can’t even recall how many times I’ve been sunk because of exploits being used to board or reach my ship from a square away. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

  • They care, it's just been dragging on a long time.

At some point they will patch it (we will see if it sticks) but overall, many in the community are sick of dealing with it all the time so I highly doubt just a patch is gonna be enough.

People feel cheated and they are being cheated by exploits.

People see how many are arrogant about it and flaunting it and streaming it/using it.

It'll be interesting to see where it goes because I don't think a patch and some back patting is gonna be enough to chill the community out about constant exploiting in sot, at the expense of those that are legit in gameplay.

  • There's also the exploits people are doing, to get their ship into certain areas where they're unsinkable. I also don't use any exploits, as skill comes with practice which many don't want to bother with, so they need help via exploits. Stick with skill, and you won't be sorry when said exploit is later patched.

that's largely just casual players that do it because they think it's cool or funny.

The issue with exploiting is that lots of skilled players do use it, the exploits are to essentially make up for a naval/strategy deficit but they are quite skilled in tdm and pack hunting.

That's what makes exploits worse, it's largely not "bad" fighters it's fighters that have skill but street fight in a sanctioned fight.

This makes it worse for those that already struggle and takes wins from those that have worked their way up to compete against skilled players/bigger crews.

  • @sotfanboy

    It doesn't matter because I don't pvp.
Not because of the exploits. But nerve damage from being old.

There needs to be a line. And it needs to be particularly enforced. I don't think Rare nor the community wants to step up. We wouldn't have gotten the blundie change or ship blocking without the Streamers. And they should be held to a MUCH higher standard. Especially partners.

I blame the "community" as much as Rare.

  • Exploits are like curse balls. Some use them others don’t. Those who use them are called cheap and shouldn’t be allowed too in pvp

  • @burnbacon I actually agree with you on using cursed balls in HG

The differences being that exploits are a form of cheating, whereas curse balls are not.
And exploits are usually against the ToS or EULA, because of the cheating aspect. Curse balls are not.

  • @europa4033 yep rod glitchers are everywhere in h.g... its jst ridiculous, same for guys with 10000 canons balls and play with big big distance

  • @celuikilisaecon there is nothing wrong with the second part unless they are refusing to fight.

  • What do you mean they obviously don't care. They keep fixing the issues and people find ways around them. They have people in insiders testing fixes all the time. Stop being salty and act like an adult. Realize that online games are ALWAYS going to have people finding ways to exploit and cheat. Rare does a great job of at least trying to fix issues. Sure, they might fix one issue and 3 more new ones are caused by it, but at least they are trying lol.
