Double Gunning/Throwing Knives; From King To God

  • So if/when they netf the blubderbuss, two things.

    1. It just makes double gunning/knife throwing meta from king to god. Blunderbuss hasn't been top meta for a long time. It has been the thing that levels TDM moderately for newer and less skilled players

    2. The only way this nerf is remotely justified is if Blunderbus can knock people off of ladders.

    I'm not sure what their motivation for this is but it's just going to make the seas so much harsher for casual players.

    No one was asking for this nerf, NO ONE.

  • They are adding knockback, it will knock players off ladders. It's in the video. Also, I have been asking for this change for 5 years. Nothing should one-shot except a cannonball to the face. One-blundie is a crutch for trash players to lean on instead of improving. Also also there are two threads on this topic already, maybe post in those instead of making a third.

  • One hit kill as been an obnoxious meta for years, I'm glad it's going away. Other weapons having a chance to shine and shaking up the meta is a great change. You are also just factually incorrect about no one asking for this nerf. Plenty have asked for this.

  • from the other thread, this change is ahead of season 14, which adds harpoon gun and blow darts to the weapon loadout, and introduces traps you can set. If the blunderbuss still 1-shot, you'd have the harpoon player to you into blundie combo, like happens now with the harpoons on the front of the ships, but from anywhere, and while boarding. That would be much more oppressive than anything this game has had yet. Shifting to focus on the blundie's repelling element and combining it with traps to buff defensive playstyles makes sense. I'm happy about the change because losing to lucky panic shots is the most obnoxious thing in the game, but its also an essential change ahead of announced content.

    Just going to making double gunning more meta than it already is; and it's a pirate game, luck plays a role.
