Sea of Thieves is all about living the pirate life, and it's brought countless players along for the ride with its awesome gameplay and stunning graphics. But hey, there's always room for improvement, right? Let's talk about why Sea of Thieves should let you see more of the action with a wider field of view (FoV) option.
Better Gameplay:
Sea of Thieves is full of adventure, from exploring to battles on the high seas. With a wider FoV, you'd have a more comfortable view of everything around you. Spotting enemies, dodging obstacles, and finding treasure would be a whole lot smoother. Plus, it would make the game feel even more real like you're actually out there exploring the vast ocean.
Getting Immersed:
Part of what makes Sea of Thieves so cool is feeling like you're really in the pirate world. A wider FoV would make that feeling even stronger. It's like putting on new glasses and seeing the world in a newer, clearer way. And for people who suffer from motion sickness (me included) it would be extremely helpful, making the game more comfortable to play for longer periods of time.
Making it Yours:
Everybody's different, right? So why not let players customize their experience even more, with something that makes the game more suitable for them? A wider FoV option would make Sea of Thieves more accessible and enjoyable for a lot of people. Whether you want to feel like a true pirate or just prefer a wider view, it's all about giving players more ways to play the game they love.
Though this will most likely get the automated message "The ability to modify FoV beyond the in-game limits was never intentional and has been removed in order to restore the intended settings of Sea of Thieves. The game is designed for 90 FoV Maximum, anything beyond that looks distorted and broken. There are no intentions to change this in the future. Dropping Anchor on this thread." in response I thought I'd still put this out there for the possibility of someone taking this into consideration. I have seen videos of people using third-party applications to access a wider FoV on platforms such as YouTube and Twitch and have not seen the "distorted and broken" look that was previously mentioned. Yes, some parts may look a little stretched but if you take a look at most other games that use a higher FoV you will notice that it also tends to stretch the screen and it is a completely normal side effect of increasing your Field of View.
Wrap-Up:
I believe, and I know many others would agree, that Sea of Thieves could be even better with a wider FoV option. It would make gameplay smoother, immersion deeper, and the whole experience more personal. So let's set sail for a bigger, better pirate adventure!
