This is not something vital at all, but I do feel it would be a nice little convenience. I like to apply skins on my ships perfectly, or at least matching as much as possible, to their names. For example, I named one of my ships "The Kraken's Shadow" and it has the inky kraken skin set on it. I don't always play it, but when I do play it, I like to wear the matching set of clothes and all that good stuff.
It would be convenient if there was a way to customize your character in the main menu before setting sail so you enter the game with the getup you desire. You already see yourself in the menu as it is and I feel it could be something to make use of.
Also, if you have completed a clothing set or any other set, it would also be convenient if they are quickly applyable with one click like the ones you can get that don't have individual items (such as hats or belts).
