Merrick Died!!?!?

    What happened to our boy Merrick!? He was our first event this hits hard. Life got pretty hectic for me the past couple years. Haven’t been able to sail very much. So sad I wasn’t able to give my respects to the one and only. I will be leaving loot in honor of him every time I pass Port Merrick 🍺🍺

    He might be dead, but he isn't gone forever. You may be able to reunite if you help Athena's Fortune in the Battle for the Sea of Thieves (Hourglass) long enough.

    He died but its rare anyone in the sea of thieves dies forever, he just decided to return as a ghost instead of through the ferry and just kept his return a secret to inspire people.

    Hes just chilling with the pirate lord with some grog and music.

    @d3adst1ck no way! I don’t want to spoil it. But do I just level up hour glass or do I need to do a specific mission to reunite with Merrick?

    @goldsmen isn’t that the truth. By dying his legend becomes even stronger. I just feel bad that I wasn’t able to send him off ceremoniously. I take solace in the fact that the SOT community was there for him. Cheers to the only man on the seas that the Meg truly fears 🍺🍺

    I have to be real, as a whole the community wasnt there for him, a lot of people joined the event and griefed constantly sadly. It was supposed to be multiple crews working together, but rare didnt head one major warning, and launched it anyways, only for everyones warning to come true.

    You can go back to find the whole situation on youtube, but it was pretty sad to see what happened of the whole event.

    I tried to leave it as vague as possible to not spoil it, but I think if you talk to the Pirate Lord he gives a hint.

    Safe to say I’m disgusted with how the community handled the event. It’s just disrespectful to all of the work rare did. I really hope we get to revisit this again somehow. Like a justice for Merrick adventure
