Ancient coins are really hard to get and I would like an easier way to get them like a tall tale or a world event which spawns incredibly rarely.
Better ways to get ancient coins
You get a fair few from seasons, and very randomly you can get from 100 to 800 ancient coins from ancient skeletons. If they manage to make seasons consistently timed from now on, they should not be too much issue to get from that. As for ancient skeletons, they are super rare, but one or 2 with any free season pass should be more than enough to get any major items you want from the emporium.
I cant think of any long term way they could implement much more ancient coins for free without impacting the games funding.
Are you talking about Doubloons?
Doubloons you get from Reapers Chests, Gifts, Tomes, Ashen Chests and Keys, etc.
Ancient Coins you get my spending Real Money on them, as a method to keep the game funded without needing to go to a subscription model.
Rare has done a pretty excellent job making sure Real Money purchases don't give you too much of a Leg Up, with the only emotes that affect the game are the Hide Emotes, but they have given 2 of them (The Basic Hide, and the Cannonball Hide) for free, and the other one is available for doubloons from Larinna (the Barrel Hide).
@dreariersquid67 sign up for Microsoft rewards. They give you points that you can redeem as packs of up to 1000 ancient coins. It takes a little time to build up, but if you get in the habit of doing them daily, then you’ll never have to spend irl money again for in game items. Definitely worth checking out!

Get a lot more (rewards points) as a Gamepass subscriber too.

So you are begging for money then...? Be happy you get lots of those coins by going through the season AND ancient skellies...RARE doesn't have to do that

I think the more relevant question is why YOU made a bad post requiring him to point out the flaws in it.
His comment did not make the idea bad nor give it that appearance, it already was bad to begin with.

This request doesn't make much sense tbh.
You want a way to get Ancient coins easier, but suggest making an incredibly rare event for them? You mean like the one that already exists? Ancient Skeletons spawn on islands and provide free Ancient Coins. And if they did make another event that was even more rare, how on earth would that make getting them easier?
Additionally, Rare already provide further free Ancient Coins as part of the Season Pass.
How much more free IRL currency equivalent do you want??
I personally see ancient coins as a top reward, a sort of cash reward, if you will, seeing how you can purchase them with real cash as well. So if you do or find something really special in game they reward you with something real special outside of normal game rewards of gold and doubloons. I really don't expect Rare to send me a check or add to my account balance for doing something to in the game so ancient coins seem to fill that need nicely.
@dreariersquid67 there is multiple ways to get ancient coins, some of them easy, others more RNG.
1st: free and easy, the free seasonal path you get from 0-100 without purchasing plunderpass
1st extended: 0-100 plunderpass, its an investment that sometimes but not every season gets you the investment back
2nd: easy but costs money, buy them.
3rd: free try and find (rng) ancient skeletons, these are like super rare events that can happen when you are on an island, it spawns with spawns music and all.
4th: free, join microsoft rewards, earn points and exchange them for ancient coin packs
If you have not noticed it yet, the main way to get then without all sorts of fussing about is by buying them, its almost af the currency is intended too make Rare money and have them be able to keep us hapoy with free content updates for over 6 years now.
Then again, if they would add an event that would grant ancient coins i would be all for it, i mean we would have insane fights over those events back to year one forts it is. I don’t see it happening though. And even if they where to indulge your request it would never be easy, i mean people go crazy over a FOTD which is just digital currency imagine a event that would give out 500 ancient coins, this is comparable to $ 5 irl, i think this would be the most contested event in years.
the season pass(free path) drops a good amount and there's skeletons that drop a random amount Rare has one of the best systems for a season pass tho I'd prefer them to remove the paid currency all together
And how would you suggest they keep the lights on (aka the server running) and the content updates coming without a source of income ?
@callmebackdraft I never said they should remove it I'm just not a fan of the battle pass system as the large majority of them are a scam the one in SoT is an exception and their store is where most of their money comes from which I said nothing about

A bit of miscommunication then because i saw this line from you:

Which states the removal of ancient coins altogether where you where, i guess, meaning to say that you would prefer if they removed the “plunder pass”, the payed part of each season
@callmebackdraft no the ancient coins could go the emporium shop could just sale the cosmetics and emots directly instead of buying ancient coins to then buy cosmetics or emots

Currently they are holding on to non legal tender (ancient coins) if they would change it to just money then Rare would technically and legally become a bank in practically all jurisdictions which is a whole can of worms a game dev does not want to get into.
@callmebackdraft I know it's far to late to do anything about it now I'm just saying this is what I would have preferred all in all Rare is a business and they'll do what the need to do ...but to the main point of the OP they current way of earning Ancient Coins is fine
