It would help a lot to know when the last time players in your guild were online as it is very difficult to know who to remove due to inactivity
Another point would be to add more cosmetics and guild features, there could be guild rings and I'm talking about real rings because it was disappointing to wear a ring and see that it's just a glove We already had gloves that were rings

Brutal. Just remember it's not a job. I lean more towards abusive or raging types getting the flick.

Nothing is horrible than seeing you kicked from the only guild you support just because you were out of game for a week because real life issues.
Guilds are about friends and family. Not a second job you should worry about

Yeah, that's kinda by design. They left that feature out on purpose to specifically avoid allowing people to do exactly what you're complaining about not being able to do.
You can use the chronicles then just need to be aware who sails together. Have you made clear your expectations when recruiting people though? Otherwise I'd say you should at least give people a warning or you might find you get a reputation.
Last time online wouldn't mean any value added necessarily and could just mean login daily to avoid
