Could it maybe be a good idea to either unlock the ability to sell plunder to the sovereign in safer seas? (Not with your own ship, so no progress). Or make its own area where you could also use a harpoon to bring your loot closer to the selling area? Having quite a bit of loot, which you need to actually make a profit if you seriously dont want to play high seas, because of… reasons… takes extremely long to sell and gives quite little. Having 1 area to sell with access to a harpoon would atleast speed it up and could potentially give new players a better experience?
Safer Seas Area To Sell

True, but its not meant for players to stay perm now is it? They want players to experience the game, learn the ropes and later (hope) venture into High Seas and unlock that special area.
You'll just have to do as people did before the Sovereigns were added: get creative.
Use harpoon rowboats, load them up and pull them in to the middle of the island. Sail with a crew. Sell everything at Reapers hideout at the funny selling spot. If you really want to make a lot of gold though high seas is the only place to do it.
@burnbacon Well, lets not forget about the "if you seriously dont want to play high seas, because of... reasons..."
Personally, i find it quite annoying having a ship already coming straight for me when i have just loaded into the game and havent even gathered resources and left port.@mrjokkeee said in Safer Seas Area To Sell:

Personally, i find it quite annoying having a ship already coming straight for me when i have just loaded into the game and havent even gathered resources and left port. While annoying, it doesn't happen that often (as long as you don't take too long lingering on the outpost) and you haven't lost anything, just a few minutes of your time.
Few things
- Selling loot outside of the sovereigns sucks. It's boring and breaks up the flow of the game. Even with the harpoon rowboat trick it's still not all that interesting though a bit faster. I don't know why exactly they added sovereigns, but I doubt it was for more interaction.
- Safer seas isn't here for farming gold that's why they only offer 30% gold. I'd take 20% and sovereigns over 50% and no sovereigns. Selling is just that boring.
- Captained ships don't need to be exclusive to High seas. That's just a choice. could even have a whole other section of commendations that only tick on safer seas.
