A "rework" to commodities

  • As of season 11, RARE quite drastically changed the UI of the voyages. This also came with a reduction to the amount of loot pirates have to carry. I'm quite fond of this change, it makes stuff more quick and compact. Although there is still a type of "voyage" which has a very cluttered UI and quite a tedious process.

    I'm talking about commodities.

And I don't just mean the process of buying them, carrying/harpooning them back to your ship is tedious. Especially since there's always a waiting period before you can take the next commodity chest.

Personally, I would suggest that you should be able to gain a unique storage chest for each of the resources at any outpost and then be able to buy the resources the outpost has to offer by simply interacting with the merchant alliance representative, like you would be collecting materials from a barrel. Then you sail to another outpost and be able to sell it by simple interacting again, just like storing something in a barrel from a storage crate works.

Lastly, I think there should be a visual design change to the commodities to make them look more unique, all of them are just wooden chests with a simple symbol on them, although I find this has a very low priority and doesn't need to be changed.

Those changes would surely make commodities less tedious and more enjoyable experience and surely would motivate more players to try them out!
