Would be pretty cool if you could raise an emissary in the name of your guild. It would give a bonus to everything like how Reapers do.
Doesn't get to see other emissaries or anything. Except maybe if they're in your guild too.
You'd raise this emissary at the shipwright and choose from the guilds that you're in.
Another lesser known disadvantage of Reaper is lower Emissary Value per item. Which only really matters to people working on those rewards, but it’s interesting. Another way they try to balance the perks with some cons.
While Reaper's Bones Treasure Items reward Reaper's Bones Emissaries with plenty of Emissary Value, selling Treasure Items of other Companies to the Reapers only yields a quarter of their original Emissary Value.
It’s an interesting idea, but it would definitely need to be balanced so it’s not too OP.

They also get the advantage of seeing every emissary on the map after hitting five. Whereas the guild emissary would not.
The reason they'd get this bonus, is because they are a target for reapers. Every emissary is an easier target and they're targeted by self-proclaimed apex players which are presumably better than the average naked abusher.

Ah, I indeed did not know that. I've never run reapers bc I dislike the company and the majority of the players that run reaper emissary.
1/4 seems like a big loss. I just assumed it was normal since everyone talks about how much more profit you get when you run reaper versus another emissary.
If we halve that, then you'd only get about 19% extra gold per treasure at grade V. And you'd have a big target on your back in exchange for that 19% bonus. Which I guess would be worth it if you sold like a chest of legend or something, but the amount you'd get back on even a captain's chest is an amount that I wouldn't put on my ship. Then again, that adds up per item.
I think I might not use this feature if they added it. But I do think it would be neat.
