As @thevoidx3 stated in a different post, we need a reason to come together as friends on the seas. Some veterans have millions of dollars in gold with no decent gold sinks in the game. With that in mind, I suggest a new item. “The Chest of Generosity”
How would this chest work? It’s simple. Someone would buy this chest from Larinna or the Gold Hoarders. They would put their own gold in it with the minimum value being 5000 and the maximum value being 500,000. A player would take this chest and hand it over to another player. It must be physically handed over without touching the ground for it to count for any commendations. The individual who does gives the chest would get credit for a new set of cosmetics and the crew that received it would get a hefty bonus.
If the chest was stolen, it would be locked and unable to cash it anywhere or it could be cashed in at the gold hoarders in which case it would only give 25% of its contents. The original owner would still get the full credit if the chest is cashed in or destroyed by sinking.
To prevent cheating, the chest couldn’t be multiplied in value by emissaries or gold and glory weekends. The total value of the chest would also be divided between crews equally. Meaning that a chest worth 100,000 would give a full gallon 25,000 each and a full sloop would get 50,000 each. To prevent alt accounts cheating, the game would remember each gamertag you ever given it to and only allow a single transaction to take place.
I realize this would take a lot of time to develop and to keep track of it all. Still, I think this idea is worth suggesting.
