Legendary Weapons need to be obtainable.

    First of all, I am not against Time-Limited cosmetics. This game has no other progress than cosmetics you can unlock, therefore there should some items that show you you have been playing for longer time, or you spent time to achieve something. However, this is not the case with Legendary Weapons. Being Pirate Legend requires a reputation progress on other companies and you need commendations like selling chests, skulls or delivering cargo crates as a Pirate Legend to get specific items in the Legendary Set. Legendary Weapons had a commendation related with Sea Dogs (which is used to be a company you could level up to be Pirate Legend just like Gold Hoarders or Order of Souls) but since the Sea Dogs are removed, there is no way to get them. Don't get me wrong, I am not talking about items like Golden Legendary which is for year 1 Pirate Legends or Day 1 Patch. I think there should be special limited items, however the set I am talking about is related with the concept "Pirate Legend" hence the name. How do you bring them back? Being a Pirate Legend obviously, and a HG level. Considering there are no rewards between 200 and 1000, there are lots of available spaces.

    TL;DR: Every item in the Legendary Set should be obtainable because its items are related to companies. Just because one company is removed it shouldn't make those items unobtainable.

    There are recolors available in the Pirate Legend Hideout that were added for this purpose. The original ones are locked to the Arena commendations and are not coming back.

    @d3adst1ck Legendary Sea Dog was Athena's Fortune Commendation related to Sea Dogs. I am aware there are recolors but there needs to be a new way to get these items becaus it is "Legendary" set. Its items shall always be obtainable.

    @aethelthriyt Rare has already made a statement on this multiple times that they aren't coming back. These threads tend to get closed because it is not a topic open for discussion.

    @d3adst1ck Oh I see. The real issue is they are bringing back older rare stuff with Xbox subscription but they are not adding a new commendation for Pirate Legend Set items which is weird imo. Maybe it's just me. Thanks for your answer.

    Yeah Rare were clear on this when Arena was closing that there was still the chance to get the weapons then, but after the closure date, they would be no longer attainable. As a shame as it is, you’ve missed out, tough potatoes.

    As per Rare:

    If you have unlocked these weapons for purchase, they will remain purchasable. If you have not unlocked these items, they will no longer be visible to you in the shops.

    To allow players to complete the Pirate Legend set, a new Pirate Legend weapon set is in production and will be made available for players to earn during Season Six. More information on how to earn the Legendary Fortune Flintlock, Eye of Reach, Blunderbuss and Cutlass will come later, so stay tuned for an update. These weapons will be available for all players to earn, so those who’ve already unlocked the original weapons will be able to earn the new variants too.

    I think I am failing to understand. I know the outcome, but it is literally the same if they would remove Merchant Alliance for some reason, and you would be unable to get Legendary Spyglass. Would that make sense? Just because it was obtainable via Arena doesn't mean it is Arena cosmetic.

    I cant say i fully agree with the logic, but to me the legend weapon set should be treated differently from the rest of the arena stuff because its not part of the arena sets. The overwhelmingly green weapons they added as a replacement are functionally a totally different set, and dont even match with the rest of the legend set at all.

    Its up to rare at the end of the day if they do decide to bring those back since they arnt actually part of the arena sets, but at the least if they dont, they should make a legend weapon set that actually looks like it fits with the rest of the set, rather than overwhelmingly jade green items on a set with very little green in it.

    I remember getting these skins. Now, in all fairness... these weapons were provided to the players that supported Arena enough to get the most difficult commendation out of all of them; Legendary Sea Dog. Possibly the 2nd toughest in the game. Right under the 5 shrouded ghosts. As well as the most undesired, because most players did not like arena mode or the other rewards.

    It was so difficult, they only required grade 4 (Was 42% of completion) for the associated achievement. Then the the matchmaking took forever. Each round took 30-45 minutes. 30 each time, if you had a full server alliance. You needed 240 victories in total. Which is 120 hours minimum. Including the loss matches, you would've played ~350 rounds before getting to that point.

    There really wasn't a lot of rewards for accomplishing that much work either. 5 special weapons, and the 1 title. There IS the possibility of replacing them with a better set and assigning Legendary weapons to a different commendation. However, that wouldn't change players having FOMO for the LSD rewards.
    But they've already been solidified as the weapons for essentially completing the Sea Dog commendations. Most people would finish the rest of the other commendations half way through to LSD.

    I also would not consider them as "limited" items. Just merely unobtainable. Arena was originally removed due to budget cuts. Not due to limiting how many players get the weapon set.

    @aethelthriyt The legendary set was never about PL, it was about LSD. Legendary Fortune is the pirate legend set.
